Stuck?! Sketches! July 15 sketch challenge DT share

It is time for another share at Stuck?! Sketches! for July.
I really like this sketch, and I really enjoyed using it to create a layout featuring my great nephew Rome and his mother. I kept the layout to the sketch and fairly simple, as I really just liked the way it all fell together. I love the photo and it makes me smile, hence the title Smile I added a Charms Creations Heavenly Heart to the layout to embellish.

More than Words August challenge

So I have been scrapping with my friend Alz over the weekend, and found some time to join in on the challenge at More than Words. I haven't done this challenge in a while, so it was fun to play.
I decided to use a photo from our trip to Hawaii last year. We hiked the extinct volcanic crater called Diamond Head, which is a main feature often seen in pictures of Waikiki. It was a good hike, and a great adventure, exploring a bit more of Hawaii.
I created a mixed media background, using stencils with arrows, and stamps with arrows which I then heat embossed. I added a Charms Creations arrow and chipboard arrows as well, so think I covered the brief, especially with adding the word explore a couple of time.
Thanks for the challenge, I really enjoyed playing.

Kraft plus July challenge

So the new challenge at Kraft plus, is very interesting. When I first saw this, I didn't think I could do it, but thank goodness for the awesome inspiration from the DT, as it changed my perspective on the moodboard.
So I think it was the skull that threw me, and once I tool that out of the picture for myself, I proceeded with the challenge.
I have actually used roses 6 ways, lol. I used a rose themed photo, a title with rose, rose stencil, rose sticker, rose flowers and some die cut roses. Maybe too much? It is very rosy!
I have used a Charms Creations hessian heavenly heart on my layout, and Charms Creations is a sponsor for the challenge this month.
So I reckon I have met the brief.

CSI Casefile #233 July

So the new challenge at CSI colour challenges is just really charming. I had so much fun with this:
So I decided to use something related to the weekend, and although not a ritual, I took the word relax as extra inspiration. So I scrapped about a very relaxing scrapping retreat that I went to in July last year. I had a fabulous time, and did very much relax and scrapped, and met a whole lot of friends. One of these friends was the Charmane Koch, the designer of Charms Creations, who I am on the design team for.
For the evidence I used stripes, text print, straw, flowers, string, decorative border, triangles and watercolour (coloured textured paste with gelato - for script stencil background).
I hope to see your creations for this challenge.

Stuck?! Sketches! July 1 challenge

This month at Stuck?! Sketches! there is an awesome sketch to kick off the month:
No automatic alt text available.
So with this sketch, I changed it a little, although the bones of the sketch are very much there. I decided to use just one large photo in place of the 2, and I flipped the sketch.
Behind the photo, I painted a strip of coloured gesso, and then layered some patterned paper, which also was added to the side.
I had these very large alphas in my stash, just needing to be used for my title, and I love them, am going to have to try to use them again. I embellished with some enamel dots and a Charms Creations super star, plus a D-lish Scraps flair. A couple of stickers finished it off.
I really love how this layout turned out, I hope we see yours too.

Show Us Your Stuff July challenge

So in July at Show Us Your Stuff, we have an interesting nature themed moodboard to inspire:
Image may contain: text and outdoor
The possibilities are endless, for this challenge. I have loads of photos that could have worked for this challenge, as I love the outdoors, especially the Australian bush. Anyway, I decided to scrap a photo of my children and friends children, in amongst some of Western Australian everlasting daisies.
I created a background using texture paste and stencil, Ken Oliver colour blasts and water spray in yellow, and added a bit of brown. I allowed the yellow to run down the page, kind of looks like stems on flowers, lol. I then did some stamping for a bit more interest in the background. I had so much fun creating this background, as I haven't done a lot of mixed media of late.
I used a variety of different papers for a photo mat, and embellished with some little flowers and Charms Creations banner and terrific tab. I also have added a Studio 1440 flair. I love the brightness to this layout, and is very indicative of what it was like in amongst the flowers.

White with 1 July challenge

Well it is now half way through the year, and time is flying by, with a new challenge at White with 1.
No automatic alt text available.
and some inspiration:
No automatic alt text available.
So I really don't like scrapping with purple, and I know I am not alone. It wouldn't be a challenge though if we weren't challenged, right? So this is what I have come up with. A layout featuring a very cute little girl, Addison, sipping on a baby cino.
Baby Cino
So when you are not particularly drawn to a colour, having appropriate embellishments in your stash proves tricky. But I did manage to find some bits and pieces, including a crochet flower, a flair, tag and a Charms Creations heavenly heart. I coloured some texture paste with some purple ink to give me my background.
So I hope you give this challenge a go.

Scrap the Girls July challenge

So it is time for a new challenge at Scrap the Girls, and this one is very interesting:
Image may contain: 1 person

This one really had me stumped, but it shouldn't as there is so much to be inspired by. In the end, I was inspired by the feathers, metal and the zentangle image. I created a background with my gelli plate, and some paint stencil. I then stamped over this. I chose the colour out of the moodboard, the copper colour and the blue tones.
I will be very interested to see how everyone interprets this challenge, as we on the design team all took different inspiration.
