Wow how the year is flying, October already. This month at
Scrap the Girls, we are paying tribute to
Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Here is the moodboard:
I don't know of anyone personally that has had breast cancer, I guess that is a good thing. However, the story of
Connie Johnson, the founder of
Love Your Sister, was one to touch my heart, and the heart of many others here in Australia. She fought a brave fight, and was gracious and beautiful throughout. Her brother
Samuel Johnson, fought the fight alongside of Connie through to the end. A story of enduring love and courage for both of them.
Yes, my layout has Samuel Johnson - a male - on a female related page. However, this photo was not all about Samuel. It was about the money we raised through our work, to donate to the
Love Your Sister Foundation, a charity raising money for breast cancer research. We asked Samuel to attend our work Christmas party, which he did, and we were able to personally give him the donation. In return, he told us about Connie, her fight, and the foundation. It was a privilege for all of us. So it was right to have this photo on this page.
Love Your Sister
As you can see this is a very pink layout, no apologies for that, it's the theme. It is simple in nature, no apologies again for that, it didn't need to be fussy. The flowers add to the softness of it all, and to finish it all off, a gorgeous
Charms Creations heavenly heart, which has really helped to depict love.
I hope we get to see your layout this month.
