D-lish Scraps DT share - Just relaxing

Hi everyone, I am back with my last share for the month.
I quite like how this layout has got so much texture on it, and the products from
D-lish Scraps really helped to achieve that texture.

I used a 5 x 7 paper bag and mini packet to use as a mat behind my photo, they also added some colour to the layout. To embellish the layout, I added a flair buttonenamel dots, Corbett Creations wood veneer bow, and some rosebuds. Each embellishment adds a different textural element.

So why not have a go at adding different textural elements to your layouts. There is so much texture available to us, to use, and you probably have a lot in your stash.
Until next time, have a good day and happy scrapping. Sandra

D-lish Scraps DT share - Cherish Family

Hi everyone, I am back with my second share for April.
This photo was taken on my Mother in laws 89th birthday. It is a lovely photo
of her surrounded by her grandchildren, so I wanted to scrap it for her.
I chose to pull the purple out of the photo, and I really struggle with purple.
However, it was really the right choice for this layout.

Teaming the purple with silver worked really well. So I did a bit of mixed media
stenciling with some silver texture paste and picked out papers that would compliment this.
I embellished the layout using some punchinella, small bits of it around the page. I have also used

My title was made using this Memory Maze chipboard mini word.

I am pleased that the simplicity of this layout, really makes the photo centre stage, but the pop of purple really lifts it.
Until next time, have a good day and happy scrapping. Sandra.

CSI case file # 252 - Wonderful

The new case file is ready at CSI, and this one is a really nice one:

I really loved the colours for this one, and chose this as my inspiration for my layout.
I used this photo of a great nephew - Hendrix, enjoying his first baby cino with his mum.
I also took inspiration for the layout from the image, and used the spots and also the bird. I did a partial frame around the photo and matting on 3 sides, with patterned paper. The background was done with texture paste and Ken Oliver colour bursts.
I embellished the layout using these die cuts with smilie faces, they seemed fitting. I added some spotty brads, a wood veneer bird, and finished it all of with Charms Creations XO set and smilie face O
Wonderful

Kraft plus April challenge

The April challenge at Kraft Plus is really cool. A recipe challenge, with 4 ingredients:
So we usually associate this quote with weddings, but there is a world of possibilities. I thought this photo of my husband and I would be quite right for this challenge. Here is how I solved it:
Old: I used old kraft paper and vintage lace.
New:  I used a new stamp set, which I painted and then cut out the images.
Borrowed: embossing powder.
Blue: paper, watercolours, mini beads, flowers and Charms Creations XO's.
I really enjoyed this challenge, and how this layout came together.
Love You

Love - D-lish Scraps DT Inspiration Board share

Hi Everyone, I am back with my first share as DT for D-lish Scraps.
I was on the team 18 months ago, so am looking forward to sharing
again over the next 6 month term.

For my first share, I have this layout, created to team with the April inspiration board.

The lovely photo is of my niece and her new baby, and such a pretty photo
needed a pretty layout to enhance it.

I loved how the background paper went with the background of the photo. In my stash I had the -complimentary peach paper and stickers. I stamped and then die cut some flowers, to add some depth to the layout. To embellish the layout, I used the paper lace doilies and built on these. The gorgeous Magnolia and Cabbage roses were the perfect colours and flowers for the layout. I then added a lace butterflyresin flowers and stranded sequins, which I pulled off the strand.

I then added the ombre wordfetti Journal It's to add some little word statements.

The final touch was the peach sequin bow,  a lovely colour.

I really love this inspiration board, so I hope my creation has been inspiring to you, to have a go.
Until next time, have a good day and happy scrapping. Sandra

Show Us Your Stuff April challenge DT layout

New month of April means new challenge at Show Us Your Stuff:
That's right, it's all about "me" or you, lol. How many of us actually scrap about ourselves? For this layout, I chose to scrap about myself relaxing, that is something I don't often do, I am always doing something, right now I am blogging, lol.
I chose to use a lot of texture on this layout, starting with the texture paste on the background, then adding the handmade paper. Different texture then with the wood veneer, flowers and flair, paper bags. My handmade items are the D-lish Scraps flair, handmade paper, wood veneer from Corbett Creations and Scrapmatts
Just relaxing

Scrap the Boys April challenge DT layout

So it's April, can we please rewind the last 3 months? Oh well, no holding back of time, so we must look forward to the new things, like the new challenge at Scrap the Boys.
What fun this challenge is, so many geometric shapes to choose from. I chose to use circles. I had this lovely patterned paper from Cocoa Vanilla Studio that was my inspiration, the found as many circular elements that I could - cogs (perfect for the bike photo), bike chipboard, other circle wood veneers, die cuts, and stamping. Even the frame has circles on it (well spots actually, but spots are round). To top it off, the lovely O from Charms Creations
New bike

Scrap the Girls April challenge DT layout

What? It's April? How did that happen already? So that means there is a new challenge at Scrap the Girls. Here is the challenge:
So this one is a bit different, but cool too. I don't have tatoos, and I don't smoke. So I decided to use the Domestic Goddess as inspiration for my layout, and used this photo of myself with new cookbooks. A statement posed though, in the title, stating "you want me to cook". I used to love cooking, now it is such a grind of a chore, on a daily basis. So this layout is a bit of tongue in cheek.
I had the perfect paper and embellishments to use, with the Kaisercraft papers and wood veneer, I must have known something when I bought these. I added some colour blast colour paste, chipboard, prima flowers and finished it off with a Charms Creations arrow.
You want me to cook
