Kraft + December challenge

Well it's December, and this is the final challenge for the year at Kraft +, how the year has flown, it's been a fun year of doing these challenges. So the final challenge for the year is to be inspired by this one:

I love travelling, so this one was never going to be one that I would deliberate over, and I had this photo that I have been waiting to scrap from our trip to France in 2013, so now I have the front page to my album - very happy about that.
I stamped using a Darkroom Door scribble stamp, and used mostly Kaisercraft products from their travel range Wanderlust - it's very nice. The map paper is the first layer over the stamping.
I added a Charms Creations DIY map marker, which I stamped using the same Darkroom Door stamp, rubbed some Tim Holtz ink over and spritzed it with water to spread the colour, dried it off and added a brad to. Must say I like this effect.
Anyway, I am so glad I have this layout for my album - just need to finish the rest of it, lol.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Believe - D-lish Scraps DT share December

Hi everyone, back again for my final share for 2015 at D-lish Scraps.
This is the second of the Christmas layouts that I have done. I used some really fun products on this one, and am really pleased with how it turned out, it sure has the Christmas feel about it.
Underneath my photo, I have used a gold star punchinella, it's a fun product. I also used a small gold chevron paper bag, into which I inserted my journaling tag. On the top of the bag, I have place a Christmas veneer, a star flower, and a felt polka dot bow.
In my second cluster, I have added a different Christmas veneer, a Christmas flair button, and a daisy
I also added a journal it's strip tag, and an enamel dot.
I hope you now feel inspired to scrap those Christmas photos that you get this year.

D-lish Scraps December DT share - Present Time

Hi everyone, back again for my second share of the month of December at D-lish Scraps, and I am sharing one of the two Christmas layouts I have done for this months shares. I'm not actually sure how I feel about this layout, I don't often scrap with multiple photos anymore, and it is a really clean layout for me. However, I wanted to try to scrap a Christmas layout with multiple photos, so this is it.
I worked with some really old Love Elsie paper, remember that? Lol.
On my layout, I used a Christmas veneer wreath, a Christmas flair button, an enamel dot and a resin polka dot button.
In my second cluster, I have used a sequin bow, and a chevron journal it's tag. My title has been done using Dusty Attic lower case alpha pack. I really love this pack of alphas, as it has multiple vowels in it - you are more likely to run out of the consonants, before the vowels.
Maybe you can have a go at scrapping multiple Christmas photos on a layout, once the big day is over.

D-lish Scraps December DT share - New Baby

Hi everyone, my turn to share for this month at D-lish Scraps, wow how the year has flown.
For my shares this month, I was going to focus on Christmas layouts, after all, we will all be taking pics of Christmas in the upcoming weeks. However I saw the moodboard for December, and just had to use it. I couldn't do a Christmas layout for this - I should have tried I know. Here is the moodboard, to refresh your memory:
Anyway, I selected a photo of my great niece Elise, who was only 5 days old when this pic was taken. I was inspired by the image of the mason jars with the word BABY and the string of stitched circles - hence what I have done in my background on this layout. I used a printed veneer butterfly, forget me not flower, mini rose and monochrome journal pack tag.
I also added to my cluster a  raw veneer which I coloured, a pick and place bow, medium rose, Green Tara tutu flower.
To the sides of the photo, I have added punchinella.
I think you will agree, this moodboard really is beautiful, so I hope you have time over the Christmas period to give it a go.

Show Us Your Stuff December challenge - DT share

Welcome to December, welcome to the last challenge at Show Us Your Stuff for 2015.
This month, we have an awesome sketch to use for the challenge, something relaxing for those tired and stressed out Christmas planned brains - lol. Well mine is anyway.
I really loved this sketch, it was a lot of fun to create with. I did choose a Christmas layout, primarily because I wanted to have this layout done for my work Christmas party, a request by the Christmas party planner.
We invited Samuel Johnson from "Love your sister" and also Aussie actor, to our party last year, to collect a donation to the cause. He was as energetic as he has appeared in interviews when he rode his unicycle around Australia to raise money.
Anyway, for my layout, the handmade items I used were a D-lish Scraps flair button, and some fabric covered buttons, given to me by a friend some time ago.

I hope you feel inspired, and manage to find some time to scrap over the holiday period.
Have a happy and safe Christmas and New Year. See you again in 2016.

Charms Creations December Challenge - Creative Team share

So it's December! Where has this year gone? Make it stop, I'm not ready to get off this years ride.
This month at Charms Creations, the challenge is to be inspired by this gorgeous moodboard:
Isn't this simply stunning? And the good thing is you don't have to do Christmas, and you have till the end of January to get the challenge done, some holiday scrapping, perhaps?
I did decide to go with a Christmas layout, it really bespoke that to me.
I found this photo from 2008 of my family having Christmas lunch, , the colours in the moodboard worked really well for this photo.
I was inspired by the baubles on the wreath, and spread some coloured gel medium through a stencil over the cardstock for this. I was also inspired by the star on the wreath - and used one of the gorgeous glitter super stars, as well as some star buttons. I also added a glitter terrific tab.

I was also inspired by the little Christmas tree in the second image, and I had one of Charms Christmas trees on hand, and I think it looks perfect on here.
So I hope you feel inspired to give this challenge a go, it really is a lovely one to do.

Deer and Fawn Designs mini challenge by Amanda-Jayne

The lovely Amanda-Jayne Baldwin from Deer and Fawn Designs, has set a mini challenge this month, to use Christmas papers and products for a non-Christmas themed photo. Cool challenge, so I thought I would give it a go.
I chose this photo of my friends son, daughter in law and grandson, a selfie they took of their little family. It is such a cute photo, and I've been waiting to scrap it for a little while.
I used some My Minds Eye patterned paper, with die cuts form one of the older collections, as well as some Basic Grey paper. I added a patterned paper bag, Therese Collins die cuts, sequin bow, beads and Charms Creations lush lollipop.
I think my layout, actually looks a little like Christmas, but then again doesn't , if that makes sense, lol. Anyway, I had fun with it. Thanks for the challenge Amanda-Jayne.

Deer and Fawn November challenge

This month at Deer and Fawn Designs, the challenge is to be inspired by this sweet picture:
This one has had me stumped, even though the image is so lovely, and the colours are lovely, I just wasn't sure how to go about this one. Anyway, I chose this photo of niece Kathryn, with her new baby, who was about 10 days old in this photo.
I am not still not sure where I headed with this, but think it went down the shabby chic road, especially with the Websters Pages patterned paper, the doilies and the Charms Creations heavenly heart and terrific tab in the silver. I added some little feathers, as well as the wood veneer birds, to tie in the birdie theme. I loved the Kaisercraft title for this layout, I thought it worked well.
Anyway, I suppose it looks alright. Maybe it will grow on me.
Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave.

D-lish Scraps November-December cybercrop - challenge1 by Amanda Hartmann

This month, the D-lish Scraps cybercrop is on in the Scrap Suite found on facebook.
Amanda Hartmann has set challenge #1, which I had a go at:
This is a cool challenge, we often use geometric shapes, but don't deliberately think about it.
Anyway, I used this photo from the E2C retreat I attended back in March for this challenge. The theme for the retreat was gold, with triangles, so this challenge was perfect for my photo.
I've been wanting to scrap this photo for a while, so this challenge was perfect. The geometric shapes I have used are triangles, circles, diamonds and rectangles.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Scrap the Boys November challenge

This month the challenge at Scrap the Boys, is something so different, to scrap our boys eating:
I love this challenge, after all boys of all ages eat - don't they? I can't keep my 22 year old son satisifed, he eats me out of house and home. Anyway, I had this photo of my cute nephew Lachlan from back in 2007, he was having a lovely time at a family picnic, and I snapped this photo of him hoeing into a cheese roll/hamburger.
I thought the kraft cardstock would work well for this photo, and I added a bit of texture paste under my patterned paper. I embellished with a variety of items, but included some of my favourite items, Charms Creations embellishments, including a super star and a terrific tab
I really enjoyed this challenge.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

D-lish Scraps November Challenge - Tracey's layout

This month at D-lish Scraps, the moodboard is black and white:
I am adding this layout, for my friend Tracey, who has not only used the moodboard, but also her JAP pack that goes with this moodboard. Tracey has done a great job, and I really love her layout, with a little bit of mixed media - Tracey doesn't do mixed media, so I reckon she has added just enough.Tracey was also able to stick just to the black and white theme, I couldn't do that with the layout I did.

Cherish - D-lish Scraps Design Team share

This is is my last share for this month at D-lish Scraps, using my theme of scrapping special events. This last layout, is not a formal event, it is a truly SPECIAL event.
My nephew Ethan was born premature, and my layout, is the moment his father, my brother Michael, got to first hold him. I can imagine how emotional this would have been for the family, having worked for a long time with premature babies and their families.
In the first cluster you will see I have used a combination of flowers, including - Little Birdie boutique element flower, gardenia. hydrangea petal, and forget me not resin flower. I have also included in the cluster a sequin bow and monochrome journal pack journaling tag
The next cluster features hydrangea petal, forget me not resin flower, and monochrome journal pack journaling tag again. To the top of this cluster, you can also see a flair button and forget me not resin flower.
Under the photo and the cluster, I added a paper doily.
The end result gives a soft result for a truly special moment.

Scrapping Outback November challenge

This month at Scrapping Outback, the challenge is to be inspired by this image:
I admit it, I don't like purple, and I struggle with green, although that's getting better. So this was a challenge, but I have done this combination before, so I looked back to that for some inspiration and it worked.
I scrapped this photo of friends daughters. I started with texture paste, it solves all issues. I scattered glitter over that. I then applied the green and purple by using gelatos. I layed some cotton under the photo and mat, and then added strips of patterned paper to mat my photo, good way to use scraps. I had this lovely die cut border strip, which I placed under the photo. My chipboard piece I think is a Scrap FX piece, the packaging was missing. I coloured this with Wink of Stella brush. I also had an Imaginarium Designs heart which I also used the Wink of Stella on. I finished it off with a Charms Creations heavenly heart, and scattered flowers.
I am happy with the end result, even this is not my favourite colour combination.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.
Love

Scrap the Girls November challenge

This month at Scrap the Girls, the challenge is to be inspired by this sketch:
Now I love sketches, so this should have been easy. I don't know why I struggled with this sketch, maybe I was trying too hard - probably; maybe it was that there was a lot of white space - possibly. Anyway, I did the challenge, and my daughter loves the layout, I guess that's what's important.
So, I did scrap my daughter Melanie, from her birthday this year, still can't believe I am the mother of a 25 year old, it's gone way too fast, which the layout reflects.
I stencilled the left hand side, possibly one of my other mistakes. I used a Charms Creations heavenly heart, and tucked some transparent clocks behind the photo, to reflect the time reference. I then scattered some sequins and beads around the layout.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

D-lish Scraps Design Team share - Medieval Wedding

This is my second share for the month at D-lish Scraps,  following my theme of scrapping special events.
This layout is using a photo of my niece and her new husband. They were on their European honeymoon, and were given a gift by a friend, to have a traditional medieval wedding ceremony in a castle in Slovenia. They had to dress in traditional costume as well - what a lovely gift.
Underneath my photo and cluster, I have placed a paper doily, they are so versatile. In my cluster, I have used one of the Raw veneer eyelet frames, to put my journaling into. I painted the frame, to give it the gold tone. I added some Green Tara flowers around the frame, and added a resin bird.
In this cluster to to bottom of the photo, I have created a cluster using a number of different items. You can see next to the frame, I have placed a metal filigree corner, which I have tucked in under the flowers. I placed some blue paper leaves under the cluster, then layered using a pip berry stem, more Green Tara flowerswax blossom flowers, and a magnolia. Tucked into the cluster are some resin cabachon bead clusters and a chipboard mini word.
I really tried to achieve a medieval feel to this layout, I think it worked.

D-lish Scraps November inspiration board challenge - DT share

This month for my shares at D-lish Scraps, I have decided to scrap about very special events. We all have plenty of them in our lives, and they very possibly are the only ones some of us scrap. So this month the inspiration may be helpful if you are a special event scrapper.
I would like to share the layout I have created for this months inspiration board:
It's a very classy moodboard, and to me it felt like it really did need an "After 5's"/formal style photo. I chose this photo of when my son was a partner to a girl at a debutante ball, quite a special event for a young person.
For my layout I was inspired by the flourishes in the cushions, the diamond image and the flowers.
I stamped with a flourish stamp onto the scripty paper, and used patterned paper that had a pattern similar to the 3rd cushion. I also added a paper doily, and a rhinestone flourish under the side cluster. I have also spread lots of glassy glitter around the page - representing the diamond.
To the side cluster I have used a variety of flowers including after 5's black flower, apple blossoms, sweet petitesmini roses, and heather sprigs
I repeated a small cluster to the bottom of the layout with the apple blossom and mini rose.
So you can see the moodboard really does like a special event, why not give it a go?
