Stuck?! Sketches! April 15 challenge

The mid month challenge has been revealed at Stuck?!Sketches!, and it's a really nice sketch:
So what do you think you could do with this sketch? The possibilities are endless. Why not scrap some photos from Easter?
I have used a photo of a great niece, I created the background using my new favourite toy, my gelli plate. I love the random, effects you get with them. The colours in the background then allowed me to quite open to my embellishing, and I love the colours that I was able to team up to the photo.
I added a Charms Creations DIY heavenly heart to my layout, I stamped in it with a couple of different stamps, in co-ordinating colours.
I hope you join us for the challenge.

Scrap our stash April challenge

It is a long time since I have done a Scrap Our Stash challenge, and I love the concept of using what is in your stash, as opposed to buying something new. It is just getting around to the challenges, that is the problem, lol. Anyway, here is the April challenge:
April Tic Tac Toe Stash Challenge
I used the row stitching, flowers and ephemera. The ephemera I used were some clothing tags (diamonds on black), and the cardboard backing from a packet of butterflies. I die cut some doilies from paper that I was not going to use as it was. The flowers were a recent purchase back in March, and were the perfect colour for the layout. This is my daughters diploma of nursing graduation.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

CSI colour challenge case file 227

As soon as I saw this challenge at CSI colour challenges, I knew I wanted to give it a go. The colours really appealed to me, although I don't use yellow a lot. Here is the challenge:
I think what appealed to me most about this challenge, was to journal about a pet. I could have chosen a number of photos of our new puppy Dusty, but decided to scrap about our old girl Bonnie, who passed over the Rainbow Bridge last year.
For the evidence I used floral pattern, stripes, something fuzzy (Charms Creations Heavenly Heart), wood, metal, frame and fabric (muslin). I used a layering technique I recently used in a class with Di Garling, which worked well for the layout.
I am so happy with the way this layout turned out, and is so fitting for our old girl.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Kraft + April challenge

Well the April challenge at Kraft + did not fail to inspire me yet again. I have so enjoyed these challenges and done every one of them since the challenges started, thanks Sandra. Here is the challenge:
I actually started with my background, which I created with my new gelli plate, my new favourite toy, lol. I searched for a photo that would work with it, then the visit to the paint shop to get my paint chips - easy!. This layout really just fell together without too much thought. I die cut from my paint chips and also added a whole piece as a mat for the photo. Of course a Charms Creations embellishment had to adorn the page, this time a lollipop.
Thanks again for the great challenge Kraft + team.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Stuck Sketches April 1 challenge

It's April Fools day. no joke, it is already April!
So it is time for the new challenge at Stuck?!Sketches!
No automatic alt text available.
How lovely is this sketch?
I used a photo of my daughter from her recent nursing graduation.
I kept this simple, and used a lovely stencil with a ring, in place of the heart. I used a dauber and ink to achieve this.
I die cut some leaves, used other strips of paper, die cuts and flowers to achieve the embellishing. To finish the layout, I used a doily and a Charms Creations arrow.
I hope to see you join us for this challenge.
Congratulations

Show Us Your Stuff April challenge

So it's April already, and that means there is a new challenge at Show Us Your Stuff:
Image may contain: 1 person, text
Now don't let this scare you off, it is quite achievable as long as you don't overthink it, lol.
I used some old patterned paper from my stash for this challenge, as I thought it suited the cute photo quite well. I applied texture paste to the background through a stencil, then added drips of watered down gelato. I stitched around the border of the page, and stitched the word quotes on. For the tape, I added washi tape. My hand made embellies Charms Creations x and o and Funky Flairs Studio flair.
I hope you feel inspired enough to give this challenge a go.

White With 1 April challenge

So it's time for a new challenge already, time is flying by, and the challenge at White with 1 is just lovely - Helium Blue:
No automatic alt text available.
There is also an optional sketch:
I used the sketch as a guide to my layout, but also created the background to highlight the colour. I used this with the negative image of the stencil with Ken Oliver colour blasts, as I didn't really like the positive of the stencil in this case.
I added some punchinella, transparency, wood veneer, chipboard and stitching to my layout, lots of different textures. I also added a Charms Creations super star to my layout.
This colour is so beautiful and so versatile.
I hope you join us in this challenge.

Scrap the Girls April challenge - DT share

Slow down 2017, I can't believe it is April!
So that means there is a new challenge to play along with at Scrap the Girls. It is this lovely moodboard:
So for this lovely moodboard, I decided to scrap a photo of my daughter from her diploma of nursing graduation held last year. I took inspiration from the sash she was wearing, which matched the colours in the moodboard perfectly. I also took a bit of inspiration from the windows and the bushes in the image of the house. So I die cut some leaves, and also used some door paper and die cuts from a Kaisercraft collection. I created the background with a stencil and some Colour Blast colour paste. I then applied a wash using Silks, a new product to me.
I added a Charms Creations super star, and some Corbett Creations wood veneer to the page.
I hope you join in on this challenge.
