Scrapbook Savvy April Cybercrop blind scrap challenge

The following layout was the blind scrapping challenge for Scrapbook Savvy April cybercrop. I haven't done a blind scrap for many years, something I have always struggled with. I'm happy with the result of this layout, a photo from my 50th birthday. I love the way the online instructions came together for this layout.

Happy Birthday

Scrapbook Savvy April Cybercrop colour challenge

The colour challenge for Scrapbook Savvy April Cybercrop required the use of black, white, yellow and orange. Nice combination, especially as orange is one of my new most fave colours. Two of my work colleagues have recently celebrated important birthdays, we had a surprise dinner out for them. The photos show some of the joy of the celebration.

Scrapbook Savvy April Cypercrop 54321 Challenge

My second challenge for the Scrapbook Savvy April Cybercrop, was for the 54321 challenge - requirements: 5 ;rage embellishments, 4 papers, 3 inks/mists, 2 words for title, 1 photo. I chose a photo from a recent family wedding. The bride Mikayla is stunning, so this photo was perfect to use for the challenge.

So Beautiful

Scrapbook Savvy Cybercrop word challenge

So I'm scrapping with my buddy Alz Callcott this weekend, and we have been doing the Scrapbook Savvy April Cybercrop. The first challenge I have taken on is the word challenge, to use the word CRAZY somewhere on the layout. Well, it didn't take much for me to come up with the perfect photos for the challenge, with so many crazy photos from my recent 50th birthday to choose from, lol. I also managed to achieve quite a crazy layout as well. Here is my take on this challenge.

ANZAC DAY - LEST WE FORGET

Last year whilst travelling in France, Peter and I were fortunate enough to do a tour of the Somme battlefields, which included attendance at the ANZAC Day dawn service at Villers-Bretenoux. It was an amazingly moving experience, which leaves us with memories we will never forget.
We are fortunate people who live in a fortunate country, and we have the men and women who served in the wars to thank for that.

Words Or Whatever April Challenge

This is the first time I have participated in a challenge by Words Or Whatever, a new source of inspiration for me. The April Words Or Whatever Challenge is to do a layout using a sketch designed by the very talented and lovely Sue Smith, including some product from the Words Or Whatever range.
I found Sue's sketch quite inspiring, and can see the sketch being used again for other photos. For my layout I used a photo from our trip to France last year, of a "selfie" photo that we tried to capture - I'm not great at taking selfies, and usually not happy with the end result, this one I don't mind. The included WOW products are the title - Selfie, the word smile, the chipboard camera, and the round heart cut-out.

Sue's Sketch from WOW

I tried to scrap this layout as true as possible to the sketch, and I'm quite pleased with the end result. Thanks Sue for your inspiration.

Fabulously 50!

I recently turned 50, and to celebrate had a 1960's themed birthday party. My new life mantra that I have taken on is this quote "Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional". On the night of my party, I think everyone else had also taken on this mantra, as it was a fun filled night, with many varied and fabulously funny costumes. Turning 50 was not frightening, it was enlightening.

Fabulously 50!

I think the colours and design in this layout explain a lot about the night, an explosion of colour, and flower power of the 1960's.  Thanks for looking at my layout.

Show Us Your Stuff April Challenge

This is the second time I have participated in a Show us your stuff challenge, sometimes finding time to scrap is a challenge in itself. I felt quite inspired to do this challenge though, whilst spending the weekend scrapping with my friend Alz Callcott. I recently turned 50, and had a 1960's theme party, lots of bold colours and lots of fun. This months Show Us Your Stuff Challenge was absolutely perfect for some of the photos from my party. The cake image itself was one I had posted on my pinterest board as inspiration for my birthday cake. Anyway I drew inspiration from the cake image for the colours seen in my photos, plus the round shapes to tie in balloon themes.
The handmade items I have used in my layout include a handmade paper clip, handmade yoyo flowers (genuine vintage from 1968!), and a handmade flair from A Lil Somethin.

I know this is over the top, but it is in line with the fun from the night. Thanks for looking.

D-lish Scraps April Inspiration Board Challenge

As well as scrapping up a storm this weekend and creating a blog, I am also having a hyper lesson on photoshopping!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alz has the patience of a saint, for this techno challenged 50 year old!
Anyways, I had fun scrapping this layout of my cute nephew Ethan for this month's D-lish Scraps Inspiration Board Challenge. I was really inspired by the colours of this inspiration board, that create a very bright and fun boy layout.

Ethan

Thank you for looking at my layout. Thanks Alz for assisting me with this computer stuff.

White With 1 - April challenge

Welcome to my blog. This is my first post in here, a new world for me - lol. My dear friend Alz Callcott has tired of me showcasing my work through her blog, nah just joking. It was high time I got my own blog.
So this weekend we have had a girly weekend of pure scrapping indulgence.
Of course I have taken on some of my favourite challenges.
This layout is my entry for the April White With 1 challenge, to use mint - challenging for me, as I don't usually  scrap using pastel colours. However, I am so pleased with the result of this layout. A photo of my sister and myself. The main element to this layout used a new release  Prima template, (thanks Alz), which is just divine.

Love You

Thanks for looking at my layout. Looking forward to next month's challenge.

Wow, that's my first blog post  - done - only took 5 hours, lol!!!!!!
