Scrap the Girls November challenge

November is here and it is time for a new challenge at Scrap the Girls.
I didn't have a photo to use of just shoes, so I used a photo from my 50th birthday, highlighting my shoes that I wore. My outfit for my 60's theme party was really based around my $20 bargain platform shoes I found whilst out shopping one day.
I created my layout, by using Tim Holtz distress oxides, and then stencilling over that. I tried to use a stencil pattern that looked a bit similar to the pattern in my dress.
As there was so much colour in the photo, I wanted to get this into my layout, and added that in the chipboard and die cut flowers. The Charms Creations DIY heavenly heart was perfect for this layout, as I was able to colour it with the oxides. The final addition to the layout was the chipboard shoe from Scrap FX which I sprayed with gesso.
This is another funky layout that has been added to my crazy album from my party. It's a fun album to look at.
It's all about the shoes

Live, love. laugh - D-lish Scraps DT share

This is the last of my D-lish Scraps March shares. This one is using this months super awesome D-lish Scraps inspiration board.
I really loved the colours in this, so bright and fun and funky.
I used a photo from my 50th birthday, from 2 years ago (eek).
I was inspired by the colours, the flowers and I used the sketch roughly.
On my layout, I have used a coloured paper doily, Dusty Attic word titleenamel dotssequin bowwax blossom, star flower, bitty bloom and Dusty Attic page pebble.
I also added Monochrome journal its
Underneath the photo, I have used a paper bag, and above that is a Dusty Attic banner
I love that this is so bright and fun, it goes with the theme of the party.

Scrapping Outback September challenge

This month at Scrapping Outback, the challenge is to use this image as inspiration, along with white, and of course chipboard:
I love using orange in my layouts, it's my new favourite colour, so vibrant and fun, so then teamed with this green, it needed to be really fun.
So that's the direction I took with this layout. I scrapped photos from my 50th birthday from last year. I had this one of my outfit -60's inspired - coz it was 1960's themed party. My party was a whole night of fun, with everyone dressing up. My outfit had the orange and lime green in it, so these photos were perfect.
I had this chipboard from Imaginarium designs, which worked so well for my layout. I embossed both pieces with embossing powder - the dress I stamped first then embossed.
I love the way this turned out, so bright.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

123 challenge Guest Designer for July

So, I was given the opportunity to be guest designer at 123 challenge blog, and the challenge for July is fluoro, the word kind and ribbon for the technique.
123 Challenge Blog
Now ordinarily, I would hesitate for such a theme, as I don't particularly like fluoro colours, but this theme worked perfectly for some photos from my 50th birthday last year, I had a 60's theme dress up party, and there were many fluoro colours on that night.
I started by adding some texture paste to the cardstock, then some colour using my gelatos. When I was looking through my stash of products, I was surprised to find that I had many items that actually work for the fluoro colours, especially the ribbon, which I have layed under the photo and matting. I punched around the matting layers randomly.
I had some really funky Charms Creations stars in bright fluoro colours as well, which worked perfectly, along with the after 5's flower. The little resin flowers are ones that I had on my cake table scattered around the cake, and the flower ribbon was in my stash as well. The word kind is in my title, describing this bunch of friends.
I am pretty pleased with how this layout turned out, it is fitting the theme of my birthday party album, lol.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

Show Us Your Stuff March Challenge

The challenge for March at Show Us Your Stuff, is to use this quote to inspire your layout:
Wow, so many possibilities with this as inspiration. The photo that came to mind for me though was a photo from my 50th birthday last year, of my dear friend Kate, who always makes me smile, and laugh. We have known each other for the past 14 years, and on many of our escapades together, we usually end up laughing so much, we nearly wet ourselves. Kate did a speech at my party, she made everyone laugh.
For my layout, I really wanted some pops of colour, to match the theme of the party. I created circles with a paper towel insert, and coloured this with twinkling H20's. I then embellished with a heap of other bright things.
My handmade items include the hand dyed paper doily's, one from D-lish Scraps, and one I did myself. Also hand die cut felt flowers, and the D-lish Scraps button flair.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and any comments you may leave.
So many of my smiles begin with you

D-lsh Scraps February Cybercrop challenge by Kerry

The challenge designed by Kerry Stuchberry was fun, fun, fun all the way. Tie dying on paper, who would have thunk it?
Well I knew exactly which photo I needed to use for this layout. I had this photo of some of our friends, taken at my 50th birthday party from nearly a year ago already (where did that year go?) This pic has been sitting in my stash waiting for the right challenge, yay, it appeared. I found some old yoyo flowers to use with the gorgeous after 5's and tutu flowers, found in store at D-lish Scraps.
Thanks for looking at my layout and any comments you may leave.

D-lish Scraps October Inspiration board challenge

Wow, it's October already, and this month the D-lish Scraps inspiration board challenge is a beauty. So bright and colourful, and the just add paper kit that compliments the board is oh so pretty, one I managed to get, yay.
October Inspiration Board
It's a good thing I had my 50th birthday party this year, which was a 60's dress up theme, as I had some fabulous photos from the night. So for this bright and cheery inspiration board, yes I chose a photo from my party. This one is of my sister and my daughter, being ab fab, how many times did I get the word fabulous on my page? I've lost count, lol. I had so much fun with this layout, being able to use bling, the JAP kit from D-lish Scraps, glitter, colour, flowers, you name it this layout just about has it, lol.
I love this layout, thanks for looking at it.
We are fabulous

D-lish Scraps September cybercrop challenge 2 by Wendy

Challenge number 2 at the D-lish Scraps September cybercrop was created by Wendy Smith, with the challenge being to use the colours orange, aqua and green. Such fun colours to work with, and because I have still got plenty of photos from my 50th birthday party to work on, I had no problem in finding one for this challenge. I had a lot of fun with this, and although it is a simple layout, I really don't believe it needed anything else on it.
The D-lish Scraps products used on the layout include crochet flowers, resin heart, camera paper clip, freckled fawn dew drops (supplied by D-lish Scraps), monochrome journal its, flair button, resin buttons, paper violas flowers.
Thanks for looking at my layout.

D-lish Scraps September Inspiration Board Challenge

This month at D-lish scraps, the challenge was to be inspired by the inspiration board titled Pink Lemonade, as below:

                                                                     Pink Lemonade

So for the D-lish Scraps September Inspiration Board Challenge, which I am sure you will agree, is absolutely gorgeous, I created the following layout. I had started the background for this layout a few weeks ago, and it was going to be entirely different, until I made a happy mistake with it. The mistake I made, allowed the colours of the background to meld, and form the lovely colours that then inspired me to keep creating the layout for this challenge. On my layout, I used one of the new After 5's flowers (the beautiful big pink one), along with the crochet flowers, some forget me nots paper flowers, a flair button, coloured paper doily and some of the monochrome journal its. I love how my happy mistake turned out. The photo is from my 50th birthday, depicting a gift I was given for a hot air balloon ride, something I am yet to do.
Thanks for looking at my layout.

D-lish Scraps Cybercrop challenge 4 by Agnus

Challenge 4 for the D-lish Scraps Cybercrop was a real challenge - I'm just lucky I've got photos to play with from my recent 50th birthday party, which was a wacky 60's themed party, lol. The mood board by Agnus, is a very colourful inspiration board,  as below:
So for my layout I was inspired by the balloons and the colours to create another vibrant layout of my party.
The D-lish Scraps products I have used on my layout are a fabric flower, resin flowers and a flair.
I used a couple of cellophane lolly bags, (left-overs from my party), as part of the background.
Thanks for the inspiration Agnus.

D'lish scraps June challenge

Wow, the inspiration board for the June D'lish Scraps challenge is so bright, colourful and cheery. It was the perfect colour combination using yellow, pink, aqua and black for a photo I wanted to scrap from my recent 50th birthday party.

The sketch also was a lot of fun to play with, and I am really happy with the end result of my layout, which is funky, fun and bright. I went back into the old stash and found some Love Elsie paper and embellishments which worked perfectly for the layout, along with some funky flowers, and button flair from D'lish scraps. Thanks for looking.

Scrabook Savvy May Cybercrop colour challenge

I've had a scrapping weekend with my buddy Alz this weekend, and we decided to join in the Scrapbook Savvy May Cybercrop again, like we did last month. I managed to scrap 2 of the challenges, this being the colour challenge. The challenge was to use pink, yellow, orange and turquoise in a layout. Not too hard for me to choose the correct photos for this, having had my 60's theme birthday party back in March, lol. With the vibrancy of my photos, I was able to put these colours into the layout perfectly. My cake fitted into the colours really well.
I had a lot of fun with this layout, and again it's possibly a bit over the top, as it appears my party layouts are turning out.
Thanks for looking.

Scrapbook Savvy Cybercrop word challenge

So I'm scrapping with my buddy Alz Callcott this weekend, and we have been doing the Scrapbook Savvy April Cybercrop. The first challenge I have taken on is the word challenge, to use the word CRAZY somewhere on the layout. Well, it didn't take much for me to come up with the perfect photos for the challenge, with so many crazy photos from my recent 50th birthday to choose from, lol. I also managed to achieve quite a crazy layout as well. Here is my take on this challenge.

CRAZY BEGINS AT 50

Fabulously 50!

I recently turned 50, and to celebrate had a 1960's themed birthday party. My new life mantra that I have taken on is this quote "Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional". On the night of my party, I think everyone else had also taken on this mantra, as it was a fun filled night, with many varied and fabulously funny costumes. Turning 50 was not frightening, it was enlightening.

Fabulously 50!

I think the colours and design in this layout explain a lot about the night, an explosion of colour, and flower power of the 1960's.  Thanks for looking at my layout.

Show Us Your Stuff April Challenge

This is the second time I have participated in a Show us your stuff challenge, sometimes finding time to scrap is a challenge in itself. I felt quite inspired to do this challenge though, whilst spending the weekend scrapping with my friend Alz Callcott. I recently turned 50, and had a 1960's theme party, lots of bold colours and lots of fun. This months Show Us Your Stuff Challenge was absolutely perfect for some of the photos from my party. The cake image itself was one I had posted on my pinterest board as inspiration for my birthday cake. Anyway I drew inspiration from the cake image for the colours seen in my photos, plus the round shapes to tie in balloon themes.
The handmade items I have used in my layout include a handmade paper clip, handmade yoyo flowers (genuine vintage from 1968!), and a handmade flair from A Lil Somethin.

Gogo Girls

I know this is over the top, but it is in line with the fun from the night. Thanks for looking.
