D-lish Scraps May share 3

Hi everyone, this is my last share for May. This is a layout I had a lot of fun with, who doesn't love a cute doggy photo, and Dusty is very cute.

So Dusty and his dad (my son) were off camping when this photo was taken. Hence the idea behind the layout, and all of the leaves and flowers.

You may remember my first share this month I used the pip berrry stems as a feature under the photo, so I decided this layout needed the same feature.

It's easy to create a nature inspired layout, when you consider the embellishments in the D-lish Scraps shop.

Until next time, happy scrapping.

D-lish Scraps May share 2

Hi everyone, today I am sharing with you the layout I have created for the May cybercrop. Go to the The Scrap Suite to see the challenges, and upload your entries.

So the challenge I set is to use the word together and tags.

This very recent family photo taken at my father's 80th birthday seemed perfect to use for this layout.
I started with 2 different papers, tearing one in half. I layered some co-ordinating tags behind the photo. A touch of texture paste added a bit more interest to the layout.

So to embellish, I added a lace doily behind the photo. In my cluster I have used a wild rosecarnationsrosebudscabbage rose, as well as some leaves.

There is plenty of time for you to have a go at the challenge, so I would love to see what you create.
Until then, happy scrapping.

Scrap Matrix guest designer for May - Dream Big

Hello, I am delighted to have been asked to be guest designer at Scrap Matrix, for a second time. It has been fun to play along with the new challenge, "To the Point". Here is the challenge graphic, as a reminder:

There is so much great inspiration here with this challenge, so it was a fun one to be able to do.
I had a photo in mind when it came to this challenge, and when I received the papers and other products to play with, I knew this was going to work together. I wanted to create something really grungy, but not too grungy that it was overwhelming to work with my photo.

Dream Big

I started this layout with these awesome 7 Dots Studio Hazy Days collection papers, I mean to say, they just speak grunge to me when I look at them. To top it off, they already had on them chevrons and zigzag patterns, just like in the challenge graphic. I cut the chevron strip off the bottom of the Zip paper and stuck it to the Slick paper, as this had the colour on it that I wanted to work with.

The other great product that I got to use for this layout was this Paper Artsy stencil.

So I was well and truly supplied with products to make a grungy boy layout using the point theme for the challenge.

I laid down some colour onto my patterned paper, using Dylusions paint, Dina Wakely acrylic paint, and Tim Holtz distress oxides.

Using the Paper Artsy stencil, and Finnabair by Prima clear crackle texture paste, I applied texture over my page.

Other detail added to the background was done by using this awesome stamp set by Paper Artsy and Ranger archival ink.

So after all of that creativity, I ended up with this background.

So to embellish the layout, firstly I made some stars, using the 7 dots paper, I also used this to mat my photo.

I was given this awesome MAMBI chipboard pack to work with. So using chipboard pieces that worked for the layout, I sanded them back to make them a bit grungy, and placed them strategically around the page in clusters, wherever they suited. For the title I had a different idea in my head, but flicking through the pack, I found the piece that said Dream Big, which I thought was a perfect title, considering my great-nephew was trying to get onto a very oversized skateboard.

As extra embellishing, I used 7 Dots Studio Lost and Found Elements to scatter around the layout.

I love the grungy feel to this layout, without it being too grungy for a small boy. I loved creating it. So I hope I have provided some inspiration, and you feel like doing the challenge. Until next time...Sandra.

CSI case file #254 May mid month challenge

The new mid month May challenge at CSI is ready for playing along with, it is very cute:

So the theme is reading. I used this photo of me reading to a friends puppy. This puppy is called Harry, and when I went to visit him for the first time, I took him a gift, the book "Harry the dirty dog", such a classic story. So I read the story to him, and funnily enough he sat and looked at the pictures and listened to the story. Who ever said you can't read to dogs too? No one ever, lol.
I was inspired by the colours. From the evidence I used vintage items - the dog playing card and yo-yos; word strip; flowers; striped paper.
I also added a Charms Creations heavenly heart and journaling tags and doily from D-lish Scraps.

Kraft plus May challenge

Well the new challenge at Kraft plus is an interesting one, based on a date:
So just add a date to the layout, well that's pretty simple. I took inspiration from the graphic with the stamped dates, and the image that was on the facebook group, thank you post with a hint in it. I liked how the dates were hidden in the graphic, and I tried to replicate this a little.
So I have stamped around the edge of the kraft with a variety of stamps, as well as the date stamp. I then continued stamping over the layout. Next came some spraying and splats.
As a base for the photo, I added a page from an old calendar, which was in fact June. I knew I held onto that calendar for a reason, lol. I have stamped flowers and coloured them, tucked them in around the photo, then came all the embellishing. I wanted to try to stay monochromatic, so the hint of pink is just enough. I also added the date with stickers.
The title I die cut from leather, as my daughter is wearing a leather jacket.
Thanks again for a great challenge.
Happy Birthday

D-lish Scraps May share 1.

Hi everyone, I am sharing today my first May layout.

I had this family photo to use, which I thought would be perfect to showcase some of the products in the D-lish Scraps shop.

I started with some co-ordinating papers, these picked up the orange top of the lady in the middle of the photo - not a deliberate move, but it worked. I used a bitty bag, as a focal point. To this cluster, I added a paper doily and lace butterfly. I then added a Corbett Creation wood veneer bow, and tea rose..

Underneath my photo, I added the pip berry stems, which I used as a feature on their own, I love how this worked.

My next cluster included a tea rose and flair button. I also added a cabbage rose to the top cluster.

Grey, blue, orange/apricot are some of my favourite colours together. There are many options for these colours in different embellishments in the shop. Why not take a look.

Show Us Your Stuff May challenge

So the new challenge at Show Us Your Stuff, was designed by me. Ordinarily I'm not fond of tic tac toe challenges, I find them a bit restrictive, so I thought it was time to challenge myself as well as everyone else, lol. Here is the challenge:
This photo of great nephew Hendrix was in my pile of photos to be scrapped, and I thought could work well for this challenge. I chose the line embossing, buttons and ribbon. I wanted to use some of my stash, lol, I used the smallest amount of ribbon, but it is there.
The background paper was just right for this cute photo, along with the pastel colours. I have embellished simply with buttons, die cuts a flair from D-lish Scraps. I also added a Charms Creations heavenly heart and cute cloud.
Go to the facebook page to upload your entry.

Scrap the Boys May challenge

April is gone, and now May is here. So that means it's time for another challenge at Scrap the Boys.
Here is the challenge:
When I first saw this moodboard I had different photo in mind, but then couldn't find the photo. It went along the theme of the model look, never mind will have to save it for another layout another time. I found this cute photo of a nephew and his little boy. I thought it would work really well with the colours.
The background paper was a great find, it had most of the work done, I just added some stamping and stenciling with stamp and stencil set from Aall and Create. ( I think I am fast developing an obsession with their products).  I also stamped and fussy cut the leaves, to tie the leaves in the photo and in the moodboard together.
Embellishing was done with some chipboard arrows, which I embossed. I also embossed the title. I finished off with Charms Creations XO, one of them a DIY.
I really love how this layout turned out, despite not being the photo I had in my head to use for this moodboard.
Like father like son

Scrap the Girls May challenge

Wow, where did April go? I can't believe how quickly time flies by. So I guess it's time to share the new challenge at Scrap the Girls for May.
So for my layout, I chose photos from my daughters 15th birthday party, which was a pink themed party. Not hard to do, especially when there are a bunch of 15 year old girls involved. There was pink everywhere that day.
I was inspired by the girls tutu, the balloons, and the party theme.
I started with some pink and white background paper and then added some really old paper, which worked well. Washi tape, stamps, wood veneer, and a tutu flower to embellish. Final embellishments are a Charms Creations heavenly heart and arrow.
