D-lish Scraps DT share 3 September

Hi everyone, I am back with my last share for the month. This layout was inspired this months inspiration board, I loved it that much, lol.

I was inspired by the handmade flowers in the second picture, plus the colours. I made my own handmade flowers to replicate those in the board. I did this using wet tissue paper and a rubber stamp and moulded the paper over the stamp. I then added some paint to the ridges.

It's a calling

D-lish Scraps July DT share 3 - Sunday Best

Hi everyone, today is my last share for this month, a cute little vintage layout.
I had this photo in my stash, a family photo from when I was a little girl, taken one morning after church. This was back in the 70's, and my mother was so glamorous with her hat, my father so dapper in his suit, my sister and I once again dressed like twins, and my brother in his little homemade suit as well. All of us except Dad, were wearing home made clothes, most probably made by my very clever grandmother.
Sunday Best
So I wanted to continue with the vintage feel of this layout. The papers felt to me like they were right for a vintage inspired layout, with that mix of mustard and pink and multi patterned.
My first cluster shows creative cuts which I have coloured gold, enamel dotLittle Birdie petite pastel flower.

The next cluster features paper doily, flair button, and pastel petal flower.
The last cluster includes creative cuts leaves, which I left raw, Little Birdie tie dye flower, and a pink bow from a past kit bit
I love the vintage feel that was created, yet giving it a modern edge. Creating this layout has made me feel a bit nostalgic for times gone by, but that's the great thing about scrapping our memories.
Until next time, happy scrapping.

D-lish Scraps May share 2

Hi everyone, today I am sharing with you the layout I have created for the May cybercrop. Go to the The Scrap Suite to see the challenges, and upload your entries.

So the challenge I set is to use the word together and tags.

This very recent family photo taken at my father's 80th birthday seemed perfect to use for this layout.
I started with 2 different papers, tearing one in half. I layered some co-ordinating tags behind the photo. A touch of texture paste added a bit more interest to the layout.

So to embellish, I added a lace doily behind the photo. In my cluster I have used a wild rosecarnationsrosebudscabbage rose, as well as some leaves.

There is plenty of time for you to have a go at the challenge, so I would love to see what you create.
Until then, happy scrapping.

D-lish Scraps May share 1.

Hi everyone, I am sharing today my first May layout.

I had this family photo to use, which I thought would be perfect to showcase some of the products in the D-lish Scraps shop.

I started with some co-ordinating papers, these picked up the orange top of the lady in the middle of the photo - not a deliberate move, but it worked. I used a bitty bag, as a focal point. To this cluster, I added a paper doily and lace butterfly. I then added a Corbett Creation wood veneer bow, and tea rose..

Underneath my photo, I added the pip berry stems, which I used as a feature on their own, I love how this worked.

My next cluster included a tea rose and flair button. I also added a cabbage rose to the top cluster.

Grey, blue, orange/apricot are some of my favourite colours together. There are many options for these colours in different embellishments in the shop. Why not take a look.

D-lish Scraps DT share - Cherish Family

Hi everyone, I am back with my second share for April.
This photo was taken on my Mother in laws 89th birthday. It is a lovely photo
of her surrounded by her grandchildren, so I wanted to scrap it for her.
I chose to pull the purple out of the photo, and I really struggle with purple.
However, it was really the right choice for this layout.

Teaming the purple with silver worked really well. So I did a bit of mixed media
stenciling with some silver texture paste and picked out papers that would compliment this.
I embellished the layout using some punchinella, small bits of it around the page. I have also used

My title was made using this Memory Maze chipboard mini word.

I am pleased that the simplicity of this layout, really makes the photo centre stage, but the pop of purple really lifts it.
Until next time, have a good day and happy scrapping. Sandra.

Kraft plus guest designer - March challenge

Kraft plus has a new challenge for March, that is being sponsored by Charms Creations. Being a creative team member for Charms Creations, I was kind of elected to be the guest designer this months for the challenge. Here is the challenge, a sketch, and to use fussy cutting:
It's a cute sketch, and although fussy cutting is not for everyone, I don't mind it.
When I thought about fussy cutting, I thought about cutting flowers, and I had a piece of patterned paper in mind, something I would never use unless I cut it up, perfect. So with that in mind I did my cutting. I also die cut kraft paper with a trellis die. This I used to support my flowers, like they were growing on the trellis. I thought this photo of my husbands family would be perfect with the flowers and trellis. I added some die cuts and word stickers, flowers and to finish off I added a Charms Creations heavenly heart
I am quite pleased with the overall effect, I am sure the family will love it too.
Love is all you need

Scrap the Girls January 2018 challenge

Happy new year 2018. We are back at Scrap the Girls with our first challenge for 2018 with this gorgeous moodboard:
No automatic alt text available.
The blues are gorgeous, and who says you can't use blue for girls? I love to wear blue, it is one of my favourite colours.
I used this photo of my sister, daughter and myself, taken recently, to celebrate my sisters birthday. I don't get to see her much, she lives in another state, but she flew to Melbourne for her birthday. She is wearing a gorgeous kaftan with luscious colours, especially the blues. This photo was perfect for the moodboard.
I was inspired by the bowls. I used a bunch of Stampin up stamps, to create my layout, stamped onto the cardstock and then more cardstock that I fussy cut and layered around the photo. I love how this worked.
Even the Charms Creations denim heavenly heart worked on here. A few flowers and flower brads finished it off.
Hope you have fun joining in the challenge.
Smile

Stuck?! Sketches! September 1 challenge

The new sketch challenge for September is ready for Stuck?! Sketches!
No automatic alt text available.
How awesome is this sketch? I really enjoyed doing this one, and it all came together with scraps of paper - so good to use up some scraps. I really tossed up about using the patterned background, as it is so bold, but with the gesso toning it down a little it worked. The rest of the layout didn't look anything much just on a white background. Some simple embellishing brought the layout together, including a Charms Creations heavenly heart.
If you are wanting to put something together quickly then this challenge might be good for you.

Scrap the Girls May challenge DT share

So it's time for a new challenge at Scrap the Girls:
Image may contain: 1 person
How beautiful is this moodboard? Just in time for mothers day as well.
I have used a photo taken recently of myself, my mother and my daughter. My mother lives in another state, so I don't get to see her often, this is so hard. My parents visited us recently, we went out on a few adventures, this one my daughter joined us on. Melanie is great at taking selfies, so we lined up and she took this photo of the 3 of us, enjoying the gardens at Werribee Mansion. How lovely it is to visit a garden with your own mother.
I created the background with my gelli plate (my new favourite tool). I added some stamping and some texture paste, which picked up some of the colour from the background printing. My embellishing includes a Charms Creations hessian heavenly heart, and a Funky Flairs Studio flair.
I hope you join us for the challenge.

Scrap The Girls October challenge

The October challenge at Scrap the Girls, is to be inspired by this moodboard:
I don't usually even attempt challenges using purple, it is one of my despised colours to work with. There was something about this moodboard though, that wanted me to have a go, so I did. I even used a lot of purple - still not sure why, lol.
So I created a background using gelatos, texture paste and stamping. I added a Charms Creations heavenly heart, a cute little Rainbow Splendour wood veneer feather, and a Studio fourteen40 flair
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

D-lish Scraps July DT layout - You're Crazy

Hi everyone, this is my final share for July at D-lish Scraps This one is using this months current inspiration board challenge:

I think this is a very versatile board, it could be both feminine and masculine. Lol, I chose neither as a specific. I chose to use a photo of me with my kids from Mothers Day 2015. We were being just a little crazy and having a bit of fun with the Ipad taking selfies.
I chose to use the kraft cardstock for my background. I took inspiration from the board with the chevrons, which I stenciled onto the cardstock. I kind of used the sketch - yes if you use your imagination, you will see elements of the sketch. I used some project life cards as the 6 rectangle pattern. To me the earrings looked like a tassel, so I have included one on my layout (mine is not a D-lish Scraps product), but have you seen the new tassels in the store?
Underneath the photo, I have added a paper doily.
To the corners of the patterned papers behind the photo, I have added a minifetti, which I have used as corners. To this cluster I have added a basic journal spot, hydrangea petalresin polka dot buttonmini metal flower, and D-lish dot
The next cluster has a bitty bag under the photo matting. I then added a sequin bowdaisy, and poppy

D-lish Scraps DT layout - Love You

Hi I am back to share my second layout for the month at D-lish Scraps. This layout is another one from the cybercrop at the Scrap Suite, this challenge was designed by Sue Plumb:
I chose a photo of my husband and his mother for this layout. I loved the inspiration of the circles in this challenge, and I think nearly everything has circles. So I started with a dotty patterned paper. I added silver texture paste through a circle stencil. I then used a spotty 5 x 7 paper bag and punchinella as matting for the photo.
My first cluster is made up from Dusty Attic word arrow chipboard, forget me nots flowers. I used a white paper doily and a silver foil doily underneath the paper bag matting.
Directly behind the photo, I have used the negative space from Dusty Attic page pebbles - a great way to upcycle something that might otherwise get throw out. The second cluster contains a Dusty Attic page pebble, inserted into the negative space. I added monochrome journaling tag, flair buttonsequin bow and an paper flower, of which there are many types to choose from (the alder flower is no longer stocked). I have also scattered sequins around the page - more circles.
Love You

Kraft plus challenge - May

This month at Kraft plus, there is an awesome inspiration image, I had so much fun with this:
When you really take a look at this image, after you have initially freaked out - yes I did too - there is so much that you can pick out of it to do for a layout.
I decided to concentrate on the car, the circles and the word themes, as well as the colours. I also picked out the dots.
I had this photo of great niece and nephews, having an outing to the drive-in. They are so cute rugged up in their jammies and their beanies. The colours in the photo are perfect for this challenge.
Charms Creations is a sponsor this month for the challenge. I used not 1 but 3 Charms Creations Super Stars, all perfect colours.
Family Fun
I hope you have a go at this challenge, it is awesome.

D-lish Scraps DT share - Delight

Hi everyone, I'm back again with the second of my April shares.
This one is a scrap lift of one of the other D-lish Scraps designers, from the March cybercrop challenge in the Scrap Suite. Here is the challenge:

I chose to scrap lift Mandy Melville.
Here is my layout:
Delight
and here is Mandy's layout that I scrap lifted:
Heart You
I tried to stay as close as possible to Mandy's design as possible, but to make it mine, I changed the side hearts,  and used a banner at the top of my layout instead. Mandy's original layout is beautiful, I am sure you will agree.
On my layout I used punchinella, paper bag, paper doilymonochrome journal it's, and Little Birdie butterfly (now retired).
I also added some wax blossoms, one of my favourite flowers in the D-lish Scraps store.
My other cluster has a flair button
I had a lot of fun doing this layout, and I hope I did justice to Mandy's layout.
