Show Us Your Stuff July challenge

So in July at Show Us Your Stuff, we have an interesting nature themed moodboard to inspire:
Image may contain: text and outdoor
The possibilities are endless, for this challenge. I have loads of photos that could have worked for this challenge, as I love the outdoors, especially the Australian bush. Anyway, I decided to scrap a photo of my children and friends children, in amongst some of Western Australian everlasting daisies.
I created a background using texture paste and stencil, Ken Oliver colour blasts and water spray in yellow, and added a bit of brown. I allowed the yellow to run down the page, kind of looks like stems on flowers, lol. I then did some stamping for a bit more interest in the background. I had so much fun creating this background, as I haven't done a lot of mixed media of late.
I used a variety of different papers for a photo mat, and embellished with some little flowers and Charms Creations banner and terrific tab. I also have added a Studio 1440 flair. I love the brightness to this layout, and is very indicative of what it was like in amongst the flowers.

Show Us Your Stuff December challenge

Well it's nearly Christmas. Are you ready? Or would you rather be creating?
At Show Us Your Stuff, we have an awesome sketch to finish off the year with. Lol, I designed the sketch, Lisette came up with the word, and Chloe drew it all together with her graphic skills.
Here is the sketch:
It really couldn't be simpler. All you have to do is ensure you have the word TOGETHER as part of the layout, and don't forget to add your handmade item.
I scrapped a photo of myself and my nephews, I don't get to see them much, we live in different states. So last time I saw them, my brother took this photo.
I used some Colour Blast colour paste as a base for my photo. I added a Charms Creations heavenly heart and terrific tab to embellish with, along with some flairs from Studio fourteen40, which are my handmade items.
I love this photo, and I am pretty pleased with the outcome.
I hope you join us for the final challenge for 2016.

Scrap The Girls November challenge

This month at Scrap The Girls, there is a lovely sketch to use:
I love working with sketches, they provide a starting point, but also versatility to allow for your own interpretation, but quite simply you could just use them as they are. I pretty much kept to the sketch, but added my own little touches.
For my layout, I thought about using 4 different photos, like the sketch has, but I decided on 1 square 5 inch photo in the end. I was on a retreat in August, and met the talented Amanda Hartmann, who I am on a couple of design teams with. There was an 80's dress up night, and Amanda had these awesome retro earrings, that we put on to ham it up a bit. I love how Amanda posed for this photo, she looks like she is posing for a fashion magazine, lol.
Anyway, I tried to create a bit of a retro feel to my layout, using colours inspired by the earrings. I added some stamping and Colour blast colour paste. To embellish, I have added chipboard, crochet flowers, doily, feathers, ribbon, a Studio fourteen40 flair and a Charms Creations heavenly heart
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

Show Us Your Stuff November challenge

Eek, it is November already! Where has the year gone?
So with a new month, a new challenge, and you are going to love this one at Show Us Your Stuff this month:

That's right, No People Allowed! Think of all the possibilities with this. Travel photos, pets, sunsets/sunrises, beach photos, flowers, gardens etc etc - endless things to scrap.
So I chose to scrap our dog Bonnie, who passed away middle of this year. I am just starting to scrap her photos again. She was a friendly dog, but she was a bit of dopey dog, always in the way. Kind of miss being shadowed by her now.
Anyway, I created a mixed media background using stamping, texture paste, Ken Oliver colour bursts, old rub ons, plasterers tape, washi tape.
I also added a flair from Studio fourteen40.
I really hope you have a go at this challenge, you never know what you will create.

White with 1 October challenge

I haven't done a White with 1 challenge for a while, just seem to run out of time lately. The colour for October challenge is cayenne:
Now this is not ordinarily a colour I would choose to use a lot of, but I seem to be trying things out of my comfort zone a bit of late, so I thought why not.
I have been wanting to scrap these photo booth photos for a while, and I think they worked perfectly for this challenge.
I sprayed the cardstock with some glimmer mist - it kind of looks like a blood bath, but anyway I ran with it.
I used some handmade paper and embellished with an x and o from Charms Creations, and a Studio Fourteen40 flair. I decided to leave the wood veneer raw, I think it helped to tone it all down a little.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Scrap The Girls October challenge

The October challenge at Scrap the Girls, is to be inspired by this moodboard:
I don't usually even attempt challenges using purple, it is one of my despised colours to work with. There was something about this moodboard though, that wanted me to have a go, so I did. I even used a lot of purple - still not sure why, lol.
So I created a background using gelatos, texture paste and stamping. I added a Charms Creations heavenly heart, a cute little Rainbow Splendour wood veneer feather, and a Studio fourteen40 flair
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Kraft+ October challenge

So October at Kraft+, is Blast from the Past challenge - using all those old bits we used to use all the time in our scrapping. Just telling a bit of a secret here, sometimes I still use some of those items in my scrapping :). Here is the challenge:
Considering that all of these items are still in my stash, there was no trouble in finding what I needed, lol.
I scrapped a photo of great-niece Elise, she is so cute.
The old items I included on my layout are ricrac, old patterned paper, vellum and brads. I also found an older stamp and an embroidered badge. To bring it back to current times, I included a swash of  Colour blast texture pasteCharms Creations heavenly heart and terrrific tab, and flair, tab and journaling tag from Studio fourteen 40.
I had fun with this.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Stuck?! Sketches DT share October 1st challenge

I have been selected as one of the new Design Team members for Stuck?! Sketches, and it is a very exciting thing for me. I love working with sketches, so when this opportunity came up, it was a huge thrill.
So the first sketch for October is this:
How awesome is this sketch? I love it.
I chose a couple of photos of a friends daughter, when she was a baby, she is now 18.
I kept this layout clean and simple, I wanted the sketch to shine, along with the cute photos.
Some of the embellishments added to the layout include a Charms Creations silver glitter heavenly heart and flair and tabs from Studio fourteen 40
I hope you have a go at this sketch.

Stuck?! Sketches August 15th challenge

I love a good sketch, and this one from the mid month release at Stuck?! Sketches is a beauty.
I really enjoyed playing with this sketch, it could have been interpreted in so many ways, and I am sure I will play with it again at some stage.
I have scrapped a photo of my friends grand-daughter, Addison. She was playing peek a boo with me on this particular day, when I was trying to take photos of her, so cute.
I created a bit of texture in the background with some coloured texture paste and a Prima stencil. I then layered the photo on top of patterned papers, project life journaling cards and some mesh. I added a Charms Creations heavenly heart, a flair from Studio fourteen 40, and some really old, but cute felt flowers. I repeated some of the elements in the top right hand corner cluster.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Scrap The Girls May challenge

This month at Scrap The Girls, there is an awesome sketch to play along with:
I love sketches for those times when you are either in scrappers block, or when you don't have a lot of time to think. I have been pressed for time of late to scrap, so this was perfect to give me some creative time. I have used some photos of a friends grand-daughter, Addison.
I used a variety of patterned papers, as I was trying to draw inspiration from the Minnie Mouse bib that Addison was wearing. This is also why I have added a cut-out of Minnie, from an old calendar. (Some things we save do come in handy, lol). I have embellished using a Charms Creations heavenly heart and Charms Creations bright emoji. My felt flowers are old creations from Chellejamo. I have also added a flair and tab from Studio 1440. You have to love local Australian handmade creations.
I had a lot of fun creating this layout.
Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave.

Stuck Sketches May challenge 1

I can't believe how this month is flying by. I have hardly done any scrapping. I had a go a the Stuck Sketches May 1 challenge last night, here is the sketch:
I had these cute photos of a friends grand-daughter to scrap, and they worked so well for this challenge. I had some fun with this. I have used Kaisercraft papers along with some older scraps of papers. I stenciled the background and added some Norm Oliver Colour Burst (my new favourite product). For my embellishments I have used one of the older Charms Creations heavenly hearts - it worked so well for my layout. I added some Studio fourteen40 tags and a flair button.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

Scrapbooking Top 50 March challenge

This month I decided to join in the challenge at Scrapbooking Top 50, is to be inspired by the word sweet:
I decided to use a photo of my nephews, when my youngest nephew Ethan was just a new baby, and his bigger brother Lachlan was enjoying a tender moment with him. I really thought this was a sweet photo to scrap.
For my sweet word, I found an old Bella chipboard word which I painted in yellow, to pick up the bits of yellow in the patterned paper.
I added a few embellishments from Charms Creations - an x and o and a cute cloud.
I actually had some WOW wood veneer hearts in my stash, which worked so well on this layout.
Some other fun product I have used on this layout, are flairs and tags from Studio Fourteen40.

Show Us Your Stuff March challenge

Can you believe it is March already? 2016 is already flying by.
For this month, the challenge at Show Us Your Stuff, is this awesome sketch designed by Chloe Neilson.
I had some fun with this sketch, I rotated the sketch 90 degrees, which worked better for me with my photos. I used some photos of my nephews having fun with Meccano.
For my hand made elements, I have used Charms Creations chevronsStudio fourteen40 flair and some die cut cogs from chipboard.
I really love how this layout turned out, as sometimes our boy pages can be quite tricky. I think that if we apply the same rules to our pages as we do for girly pages, just substitute the embellishments that show boys. This sketch made doing a boy page easy. Hope you give it a go.

More than Words February challenge

This month the challenge at More than words, is to use the word wonderful, as well as sparkle.
I found this a really nice challenge to do. I used a photo of friends daughters, who both have beautiful smiles and are gorgeous girls, so it was easy to scrap them.
I used a Websters Pages patterned paper for the background, and then added some pretty Cocoa Vanilla paper - with the word wonderful in it. I used some gold foil journaling cards as a photo mat.
I added Cocoa Vanilla stickers, again containing the word wonderful.
I added this recently acquired Studio Fourteen40 gold foil flair which was perfect for the layout, along with some sequins.
I also added some cute wood veneers that I found at Typo, to add a bit of extra glam to the layout.
Thanks More than words team, I loved this challenge.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.
