Fiona Paltridge class

At the E2C retreat, there were 4 teachers, all well known and experienced in their field. All varying styles, which were amazing. I chose to do 2 classes, one was by Fiona Paltridge, current SBM master, and one really cool lady.
I have been a fan of Fiona's for a while now, so really did want to give this a go.
The layout was designed to use a "moody" black and white photo, I didn't have any that were working of people, so I chose this one, which was taken about 3 months after the Black Saturday fires in Victoria.
Firstly we created the background with texture paste, and then added gelatos. We then built up the papers using a variety of papers to add the strips and the backing for the photo, along with some corrugated cardboard. We also had some burlap which was painted and cut into an arrow.
This was a terrific learning experience, thank you so much Fiona.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and any comments you may leave.
Devastation, loss and grief

  1. The techniques used have worked to create a great page. Love the muted tones to create the sombre mood.
