Deer and Fawn Designs mini challenge by Amanda-Jayne

The lovely Amanda-Jayne Baldwin from Deer and Fawn Designs, has set a mini challenge this month, to use Christmas papers and products for a non-Christmas themed photo. Cool challenge, so I thought I would give it a go.
I chose this photo of my friends son, daughter in law and grandson, a selfie they took of their little family. It is such a cute photo, and I've been waiting to scrap it for a little while.
I used some My Minds Eye patterned paper, with die cuts form one of the older collections, as well as some Basic Grey paper. I added a patterned paper bag, Therese Collins die cuts, sequin bow, beads and Charms Creations lush lollipop.
I think my layout, actually looks a little like Christmas, but then again doesn't , if that makes sense, lol. Anyway, I had fun with it. Thanks for the challenge Amanda-Jayne.

Deer and Fawn November challenge

This month at Deer and Fawn Designs, the challenge is to be inspired by this sweet picture:
This one has had me stumped, even though the image is so lovely, and the colours are lovely, I just wasn't sure how to go about this one. Anyway, I chose this photo of niece Kathryn, with her new baby, who was about 10 days old in this photo.
I am not still not sure where I headed with this, but think it went down the shabby chic road, especially with the Websters Pages patterned paper, the doilies and the Charms Creations heavenly heart and terrific tab in the silver. I added some little feathers, as well as the wood veneer birds, to tie in the birdie theme. I loved the Kaisercraft title for this layout, I thought it worked well.
Anyway, I suppose it looks alright. Maybe it will grow on me.
Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave.

D-lish Scraps November-December cybercrop - challenge1 by Amanda Hartmann

This month, the D-lish Scraps cybercrop is on in the Scrap Suite found on facebook.
Amanda Hartmann has set challenge #1, which I had a go at:
This is a cool challenge, we often use geometric shapes, but don't deliberately think about it.
Anyway, I used this photo from the E2C retreat I attended back in March for this challenge. The theme for the retreat was gold, with triangles, so this challenge was perfect for my photo.
I've been wanting to scrap this photo for a while, so this challenge was perfect. The geometric shapes I have used are triangles, circles, diamonds and rectangles.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Scrap the Boys November challenge

This month the challenge at Scrap the Boys, is something so different, to scrap our boys eating:
I love this challenge, after all boys of all ages eat - don't they? I can't keep my 22 year old son satisifed, he eats me out of house and home. Anyway, I had this photo of my cute nephew Lachlan from back in 2007, he was having a lovely time at a family picnic, and I snapped this photo of him hoeing into a cheese roll/hamburger.
I thought the kraft cardstock would work well for this photo, and I added a bit of texture paste under my patterned paper. I embellished with a variety of items, but included some of my favourite items, Charms Creations embellishments, including a super star and a terrific tab
I really enjoyed this challenge.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

D-lish Scraps November Challenge - Tracey's layout

This month at D-lish Scraps, the moodboard is black and white:
I am adding this layout, for my friend Tracey, who has not only used the moodboard, but also her JAP pack that goes with this moodboard. Tracey has done a great job, and I really love her layout, with a little bit of mixed media - Tracey doesn't do mixed media, so I reckon she has added just enough.Tracey was also able to stick just to the black and white theme, I couldn't do that with the layout I did.

Cherish - D-lish Scraps Design Team share

This is is my last share for this month at D-lish Scraps, using my theme of scrapping special events. This last layout, is not a formal event, it is a truly SPECIAL event.
My nephew Ethan was born premature, and my layout, is the moment his father, my brother Michael, got to first hold him. I can imagine how emotional this would have been for the family, having worked for a long time with premature babies and their families.
In the first cluster you will see I have used a combination of flowers, including - Little Birdie boutique element flower, gardenia. hydrangea petal, and forget me not resin flower. I have also included in the cluster a sequin bow and monochrome journal pack journaling tag
The next cluster features hydrangea petal, forget me not resin flower, and monochrome journal pack journaling tag again. To the top of this cluster, you can also see a flair button and forget me not resin flower.
Under the photo and the cluster, I added a paper doily.
The end result gives a soft result for a truly special moment.

Scrapping Outback November challenge

This month at Scrapping Outback, the challenge is to be inspired by this image:
I admit it, I don't like purple, and I struggle with green, although that's getting better. So this was a challenge, but I have done this combination before, so I looked back to that for some inspiration and it worked.
I scrapped this photo of friends daughters. I started with texture paste, it solves all issues. I scattered glitter over that. I then applied the green and purple by using gelatos. I layed some cotton under the photo and mat, and then added strips of patterned paper to mat my photo, good way to use scraps. I had this lovely die cut border strip, which I placed under the photo. My chipboard piece I think is a Scrap FX piece, the packaging was missing. I coloured this with Wink of Stella brush. I also had an Imaginarium Designs heart which I also used the Wink of Stella on. I finished it off with a Charms Creations heavenly heart, and scattered flowers.
I am happy with the end result, even this is not my favourite colour combination.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.
