Scrap the Boys July challenge

The challenge this month at Scrap The Boys is to be inspired by this image:
I had a couple of photos perfect for this layout, but chose this one of my nephews having some fun at the beach.
I created the background to my layout with texture paste, a resist spray and then used the Ken Oliver Colour Bursts, (my fave mixed media product at the moment).
I tore some papers and layered them to look like water from the ocean. I aded some prills, hand dyed muslin and shells.
I used a Charms Creations cute cloud, that I cut in half and set to the top of the layout, and also added a Charms Creations super star
I had a lot of fun with this layout.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Kraft + July challenge

I am running very late for getting any layouts done this month, with a holiday to Hawaii thrown into the mix this month, not much time for scrapping. I have however finally done my layout for this months challenge at Kraft plus, and it is a beautiful challenge.
I chose this photo of my nieces wedding from last year, they were sheltering under umbrellas in this pic, it was a freezing cold winters day.
I created the background with a music stencil and texture paste, with some subtle stamping through the stencil as well. I folded my own flowers out of some music paper and have used the music paper to matt the photo. I took inspiration from the music sheet paper, the flowers and the heart.
I have included a Charms Creations silver glitter heavenly heart on my layout, perfect for it, in my opinion anyway.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

D-lish Scraps July DT layout - You're Crazy

Hi everyone, this is my final share for July at D-lish Scraps This one is using this months current inspiration board challenge:

I think this is a very versatile board, it could be both feminine and masculine. Lol, I chose neither as a specific. I chose to use a photo of me with my kids from Mothers Day 2015. We were being just a little crazy and having a bit of fun with the Ipad taking selfies.
I chose to use the kraft cardstock for my background. I took inspiration from the board with the chevrons, which I stenciled onto the cardstock. I kind of used the sketch - yes if you use your imagination, you will see elements of the sketch. I used some project life cards as the 6 rectangle pattern. To me the earrings looked like a tassel, so I have included one on my layout (mine is not a D-lish Scraps product), but have you seen the new tassels in the store?
Underneath the photo, I have added a paper doily.
To the corners of the patterned papers behind the photo, I have added a minifetti, which I have used as corners. To this cluster I have added a basic journal spot, hydrangea petalresin polka dot buttonmini metal flower, and D-lish dot
The next cluster has a bitty bag under the photo matting. I then added a sequin bowdaisy, and poppy

D-lish Scraps DT layout - Love You

Hi I am back to share my second layout for the month at D-lish Scraps. This layout is another one from the cybercrop at the Scrap Suite, this challenge was designed by Sue Plumb:
I chose a photo of my husband and his mother for this layout. I loved the inspiration of the circles in this challenge, and I think nearly everything has circles. So I started with a dotty patterned paper. I added silver texture paste through a circle stencil. I then used a spotty 5 x 7 paper bag and punchinella as matting for the photo.
My first cluster is made up from Dusty Attic word arrow chipboard, forget me nots flowers. I used a white paper doily and a silver foil doily underneath the paper bag matting.
Directly behind the photo, I have used the negative space from Dusty Attic page pebbles - a great way to upcycle something that might otherwise get throw out. The second cluster contains a Dusty Attic page pebble, inserted into the negative space. I added monochrome journaling tag, flair buttonsequin bow and an paper flower, of which there are many types to choose from (the alder flower is no longer stocked). I have also scattered sequins around the page - more circles.

D-lish Scraps July DT share - Baby Selfie

Hi, I am back again to share my July layouts with you. This layout, is inspired by Mandy Melville, who designed this challenge for the cybercrop at The Scrap Suite:
This is a lovely sketch, so I just had to have a go at it.
Given that my layout is about taking photos, I used this camera paper, which I coloured some of the cameras with gelatos, for a bit of added intersest.
I used a 5 x 7 paper bag as matting for my photo, and added a paper doily. I decided to use some basic journal spots as part of my clusters on this layout, rather than using them to journal on. In this cluster I have added a printed wood veneer butterflystarflower, and monochrome journal tag.
My final cluster features my title created with Kaisercraft alphas. I love these alphas, they are so versatile.

Show Us Your Stuff July challenge

This month at Show Us Your Stuff, we have a moodboard designed by Cally Brunner and Chloe Nielsen to inspire:
How cute is this, and how very wintry, seeing as we are now in the middle of winter here in Australia.
I had the perfect photo for this challenge, one taken of my son, 10 years ago. He and his father were on a camping/4wdriving weekend with a group. It was in November, and it was snowing! It was also his birthday, so he had a fun snowy birthday that year.
On my layout, I was inspired by the colours, and have included them all. I also loved the little snowman, and this is represented in the photo. I have dug through my old supplies and found some snowflake charms and old snowflake eyelets. The patterned papers are very old, but they work.
I included a Charms Creations hessian super star, perfect colour. Other handmade items include journaling tags from D-lish Scraps, and a flair from Funky Flairs Studio.
I had lots of fun with this layout, I hope you have a go at it.
 Snowy day

Stuck Sketches July 1st sketch challenge - guest designer

This month I am a guest designer at Stuck?! Sketches, such an honour to be asked. The sketch this month is sure to please, I really loved working on this one.
I had to go through a few photos to get ones that would work to tell a story, I don't always take a lot of photos of one subject. I did have these gorgeous photos of a niece's wedding, from a few years ago. It was a lovely wedding, and she looked stunning.
I used some really old Basic Grey paper for my background, as the colours worked really well for the photos. I added some texture paste through a stencil, and scattered some glitter and micro beads over the texture paste. I cut down a number of photos to just get the expressions on their faces, to used as my sidebar of photos. Instead of encasing the photos in frames, I cut some paper frames (one of my fave things to do right now) and laid them under the photos.
I added some organza flowers, flairs from Funky Flairs studio, and die cuts from Kaisercraft and Teresa Collins.
I think this sketch was great for scrapping a wedding, and a number of photos of the one event.
