Scrap The Girls May challenge

This month at Scrap The Girls, there is an awesome sketch to play along with:
I love sketches for those times when you are either in scrappers block, or when you don't have a lot of time to think. I have been pressed for time of late to scrap, so this was perfect to give me some creative time. I have used some photos of a friends grand-daughter, Addison.
I used a variety of patterned papers, as I was trying to draw inspiration from the Minnie Mouse bib that Addison was wearing. This is also why I have added a cut-out of Minnie, from an old calendar. (Some things we save do come in handy, lol). I have embellished using a Charms Creations heavenly heart and Charms Creations bright emoji. My felt flowers are old creations from Chellejamo. I have also added a flair and tab from Studio 1440. You have to love local Australian handmade creations.
I had a lot of fun creating this layout.
Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave.

Stuck Sketches May challenge 1

I can't believe how this month is flying by. I have hardly done any scrapping. I had a go a the Stuck Sketches May 1 challenge last night, here is the sketch:
I had these cute photos of a friends grand-daughter to scrap, and they worked so well for this challenge. I had some fun with this. I have used Kaisercraft papers along with some older scraps of papers. I stenciled the background and added some Norm Oliver Colour Burst (my new favourite product). For my embellishments I have used one of the older Charms Creations heavenly hearts - it worked so well for my layout. I added some Studio fourteen40 tags and a flair button.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

More Than Words May challenge

This month at More Than Words, the challenge is this:
This is an awesome challenge, and one I really needed to have a go at. I chose a photo of my husband and myself from our anniversary celebration last year.
I used a Prima stencil to stencil the clocks around the patterned paper, and then stamped using a Kaisercraft stamp over that. I found clock embellishments in my stash, which include Kaisercraft collectibles, and Funky Flairs Studio flairs. I have layered my photo onto patterned paper and recycled dressmaking pattern paper. I have the word moment in one of the collectibles pieces, a sticker in the butterfly cluster and in my title. I think I have covered the brief.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

D-lish Scraps share 3 - Smile

Hi back again, with the last of my May shares. This is another one from the April cybercrop, this one was designed by Mandy Melville, and this is the challenge:
I am sure we all have a friend who has been there forever. This layout is about one of my friends, who I have been friends with for 25 years. I loved that the quote in this challenge allowed me to scrap about my friend.
My cluster here includes Dusty Attic chipboard bannerpastel petal, and starflower.
The second cluster has my title, which is a Corbett Creations wood veneer word, a Green Tara azaleastarflowerenamel dot and flair button.
Lastly, I have finished off with a pastel petal, forget me not, and a Corbett Creations bow

D-lish Scraps May share 2 - 21st cake

Hi everyone, back again for my second share for May. This one is inspired by a challenge set for the April cybercrop, by Emma Zappone. Here is the challenge:
Well I must say this one is an interesting challenge, I don't normally do black and white well, so lucky there was another colour, and the metallic. So I have pushed myself a little with this one, and to say I struggled a little is probably an understatement.
I wanted to use the pink 21, which was from my daughters 21st birthday party, which was an over the top Burlesque theme. I had this photo of her cake, as many of her photos are a bit too much to share publicly, so the cake it is - lol.
I used one of the new Dusty Attic stencils, the feathers one, which I applied texture paste through onto the 21. I scattered some sequins around the page. This cluster has a sequin bowresin flowers, bitty bag, basic journal spot, and star flower.
21st cake
So it's good to try something different, right? Lol.

D-lish Scraps May share - By the Sea

Hi everyone, it is my turn to share at D-lish Scraps, and I am starting with my layout interpretation of the May inspiration board:
I just love the colours in this, so fresh, and so much to be inspired by.
I chose a photo taken on our holiday to Mallacoota last year. We were out walking one day, and came across these ladies painting the ocean - quite an unexpected thing to see.
I decided to use the sketch, a great sketch, and a sketch usually gets my mojo going. On my layout, I used a coloured paper doily, behind my paper layers. On top of the doily, my cluster includes wax blossomleaves, enamel dots, and forget me nots

In the second cluster, I repeated the wax blossoms, leaves, enamel dots, and added hydrangea petals, and pastel petals
For my title, I have used Dusty Attic chipboard alphas, and added another forget me not and retired button
I hope you have a go at this challenge, it is so pretty.

Kraft plus challenge - May

This month at Kraft plus, there is an awesome inspiration image, I had so much fun with this:
When you really take a look at this image, after you have initially freaked out - yes I did too - there is so much that you can pick out of it to do for a layout.
I decided to concentrate on the car, the circles and the word themes, as well as the colours. I also picked out the dots.
I had this photo of great niece and nephews, having an outing to the drive-in. They are so cute rugged up in their jammies and their beanies. The colours in the photo are perfect for this challenge.
Charms Creations is a sponsor this month for the challenge. I used not 1 but 3 Charms Creations Super Stars, all perfect colours.
Family Fun
I hope you have a go at this challenge, it is awesome.

Scrap the Boys May challenge

This month at Scrap the Boys, there is an awesome sketch to be inspired by. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to do this.
I have had these photos of nephew Jareth for a couple of years, and this challenge was just perfect for it, with the use of 3 photos. Jareth is a very lucky little boy, to be alive, he nearly died after his birth, but he is a real fighter and pulled through. To see him concentrating on hitting the ball this day is a joy, thinking about what could have been.
I loved the design in the sketch of the layering of the 2 background papers, but when I was going through my paper stash, I found this Fancy Pants paper that I thought would create the same sort of idea as the sketch.
I of course added my Charms Creations Super Stars, absolutely perfect for this layout.
I then found a few different items that would work, and found these really old Making Memories (remember them?) word sticker tags, which were perfect colour and I liked the words that were printed. I added a flair from Funky Flairs studio.
I am happy with the way this turned out.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

Charms Creations May challenge

For the month of May at Charms Creations, we have a challenge to use your Charms emoji creations.
How cute are the emoji's? The challenge is a cute one too:
So for this challenge, I chose to the wink emoji, in conjunction with this cute photo of my nephew being a pirate.
On my background, I have used a stencil, texture paste and the Norm Oliver colour bursts - my new fave product, next to my Charms Creations emojis of course :) .
I also had a pack from Studio fourteen40 of tabs and I used one of their flairs. The pirate die cut is from Pretty little studio.
I had so much fun creating this layout, I hope you do too.

Show Us Your Stuff May challenge

This month at Show Us Your Stuff, the challenge is to use poetry and hearts. What a lovely challenge:
I chose to use a poem about babies, and I scrapped my great nephew Rome. (He is so cute).
I created a background using Norm Oliver Colour Bursts, over stenciled texture paste, and added stamping, and ink splashes.
I mounted the photo on a variety of papers including handmade paper from Sirrah Sarrah.
Other handmade items I used include Charms Creations heavenly hearts, Funky Flairs Studio flairs, and Studio fourteen40 tabs. I also hand died a crochet doily.
I quite like the way this layout has turned out, even though the background is a litte grungy.
