Scrap The Girls March Challenge

This month at Scrap The Girls, there is this awesome sketch to inspire your girly layout:
I really liked this sketch, it is a lot of fun.
This month, Charms Creations is sponsoring the challenge. So being on the Charms Creative Team, we have each designed a layout using this sketch. Here is my version.
On my layout, I have used some of the Charms x's
and a terrific tab
This layout photo is of my friend Alz Callcott and I, having a relax at the airport before heading off to E2C retreat last year. We had an awesome time, this was just the beginning of it.
Pure Bliss

Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

White With 1 January challenge

I've been scrapping with my friend Alz Callcott, this weekend, and after a weekend of making layouts, and feeling finished, she challenged me to another challenge. "Do the White With 1 challenge" she said. "It's green, and you know how much I hate green", I said. She said, "do the challenge, and set yourself a time limit to do it". I said, "Ok, I'll do it in 1 hour". Game on. I did the challenge, and I did it in 1 hour and 1 minute - go me, lol.
I am glad Alz challenged me to the challenge, as I have been wanting to scrap this photo from the Singapore Zoo,  for a while now, and without her pushing me I wouldn't have done it. I still hate green though.
So I used a Kaisercraft die to cut out some leaves, (purchased that over the weekend, when we went shopping - shhhhh!) Perfect die for this layout. I used another sizzix die from Alz stash, and voila, I had a layout on my hands.
I also added a Charms Creations DIY map marker to my layout, which I stamped on then sprayed with glimmermist. The flairs are from D-lish Scraps
I am so very pleased with the way this layout turned out, even though I hate green, and even though I did it so quickly - less thought more just doing!
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

Kraft+ October challenge - In Max's Garden

This month at Kraft+, this is the challenge:
Another fabulous challenge, and had I not already scrapped some photos of Willy Wagtails that I had, that is probably what I would have done. So I had to think outside the square. I had this photo of me, admiring a plant in my friend Alz Callcott's garden, so this is what I went with.
I had an awful time trying to get a decent background on the kraft cardstock, and this is the second attempt, that didn't go into the bin. It wasn't the cardstock, it was the crackling medium that I so desperately wanted to use. Anyway, I started by spraying the cardstock, which I cut down the top piece, stitched it to the second piece and then adhered that to some backing cardstock. I spread the horrible crackling medium (I am going to have to learn how to use it - lol - big tub), over the sprayed area, and allowed that to dry overnight - that is how long it took - 12 hours! It still didn't look great, really fine cracks, so I rubbed ink and then metallic lustre into it, to get something close to what I was looking for. I then stamped using a cool Tim Holtz stamp (recently acquired) over that - the end result was fabulous - I am glad I stuck it out, as I wasn't going to bother trying again had it failed.
For my natural elements on the page, I dehyrated a piece of the bush, using a microwave dehydrater, and also added leaf matter from the garden under the photo, to which I also sprinkled some little prills. I die cut leaves using a Couture Creations die, and have tucked feathers here and there, I left the Scrap FX ones raw, I thought they looked cute like that.
I am happy with the end result.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

Jot Magazine November/December Mood Board Challenge

Last month I had a go at doing the Jot Magazine November/December Mood Board challenge, but didn't get it up on the challenge site in time.
This month I am determined it be uploaded.
This was an extremely fun challenge to create for, using the very delicious inspiration board:

I just love the French Provincial feel to this, but, unfortunately, I didn't quite have a French Provincial photo to use to scrap with, but did use a very cute photo of a friends daughter, Charlie. I don't normally do Christmas layouts as a rule, have dabbled, but never created anything special. However, I'm really happy with the way this layout turned out. I used inspiration for the layout, from a scraplift from a layout created by my friend Alison Callcott.
Thanks for the inspiration for this layout Jot girls, and Alison.
