Stuck?! Sketches August 15th challenge

I love a good sketch, and this one from the mid month release at Stuck?! Sketches is a beauty.
I really enjoyed playing with this sketch, it could have been interpreted in so many ways, and I am sure I will play with it again at some stage.
I have scrapped a photo of my friends grand-daughter, Addison. She was playing peek a boo with me on this particular day, when I was trying to take photos of her, so cute.
I created a bit of texture in the background with some coloured texture paste and a Prima stencil. I then layered the photo on top of patterned papers, project life journaling cards and some mesh. I added a Charms Creations heavenly heart, a flair from Studio fourteen 40, and some really old, but cute felt flowers. I repeated some of the elements in the top right hand corner cluster.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Kraft Plus August Challenge

How is it already near the end of August? I can't believe where this month has gone, let alone this year. I have hardly scrapped this month, life has just got in the way.
I did do the challenge at Kraft Plus though, and this is the challenge:
I went on a scrapping retreat in July, and met for the first time, Charmane Koch and Amanda Hartmann, creator and fellow creative team member from Charms Creations. It was so lovely to meet after so long working together on the team. So I thought it appropriate to create this layout, my tribute to meeting them.
Naturally, I have included a Charms Creations embellishment, a heavenly heart.
I have included 3 tassels on my layout, and I had a lot of creative mixed media fun with the background.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

Show Us Your Stuff August Challenge

Can you believe it is August already? It will be Christmas before we know it. At least it is the last month of winter - yay to that.
This month at Show Us Your Stuff, we have a very interesting challenge.. Here it is:
So, it's time to get out those ugly papers in your stash and do something special with them. don't for get your handmade item.
For my layout, I chose a photo of a friends grand-daughter, she lights up any ugly paper, lol. I found some papers from an American Crafts pack, which I really didn't like very much, especially the green one. So with paper on my cardstock, I covered them all with gesso - great way to tone down and cover over things you don't like. I then used some modelling paste and a stencil which I applied over the gesso.
The handmade item I have used on my layout, is a Charms Creations heavenly hessian heart
Don't be afraid of this challenge, embrace it.

D-lish Scraps DT August layout - Cray cray ... lol

I'm back with my last August share. This layout was inspired by a challenge in The Scrap Suite, a challenge set by Michelle Stokes. Here is the challenge:

I used a couple of photos that I took of myself on my recent holiday in Hawaii.
I actually enjoyed doing this layout, and not taking myself so seriously. I had the perfect patterned paper to add to my layout too.
So on this layout, I have used wax blossomshydrangea petalssequin bowenamel dots, and paper leaves. I also added a wood veneer frame over the photo.
The title cluster features a wild rose, and wordfetti
The last cluster features a flair button

D-lish Scraps DT layout August - Enjoy the Moment

This is the second of my August shares for you.
For this layout, I was inspired by a current challenge in the Scrap Suite on facebook, a challenge set by Sonia Cotugno. Here is the challenge:
I love adding texture to my layouts, so this challenge was a no brainer for me, lol. I started by tearing the edges of the patterned paper, and then stitching it to the white cardstock. I then added some gesso and texture paste.
I used a photo of Amanda (boss lady) and myself, taken on a recent retreat, it was the first time we had met.
I added more texutre to the layout with my embellishing, and used some florists wrap in pink, around the layout. I matted the photo on a 5 x 7 paper bag. I tucked another paper bag under the 5 x 7. I used a Journal its journaling tag, which is tucked inside the bitty bag. On top of this is a 3 inch paper doily,  ( so cute), star flowerminifetti, and a journaling tag from a kit bit. You can also see punchinella and a forget me not.
The major cluster has been created using a wood veneer frame, into which I clustered hydrangea petalswax blossoms, and a wild rose. Also added is a tasselDusty Attic page pebble and spiral stamens.
Enjoy the moment

D-lish Scraps DT layout August - Happy

Hi everyone, I am back with the first of my August shares.
This layout is what I have created with the August inspiration board, here it is as a reminder:
I used this photo of a friends grandson, the colours worked so well with the inspiration board colours. I also used the sketch as inspiration for my layout.
On my layout, I have used a 5 x 7 paper bag as a mat behind the photo. I used a word from a wordfetti sheet, some wood veneer stars, and D-lish enamel dots in this first cluster.
In the next image you can see more wordfetti, enamel dots, and I have added a resin polka dot button and bakers twine
My final cluster with the title, has a repeat of the bakers twinewordfettienamel dotspolka dot button, and finished it with a Corbetts Creations wood veneer word and bow

Stuck Sketches August 1 challenge

I am hoping this month I get to do a few more layouts than I did last month, with going away on holiday, there was little time for scrapping.
This month I have had a go at the sketch at Stuck sketches. I really do love a good sketch, and this does not disappoint:
The trickiest thing for me was to find 2 photos that were going to work for me, and I found these ones taken a while ago, meeting my youngest nephew for the first time. We live a long distance from each other, and it is hard to not watch my nephews growing up.
I started by applying some texture paste to the background paper, not that you can see it, as I then sprayed over that with mist. I also added some cotton thread under my clusters over the mist spray.
I added embellishments from Charms Creations - x, o and tab
I really like the gentility of this layout.
Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave.

Charms Creations guest designer for CSI

Hi everyone, this month, Charms Creations is sponsoring the challenges at CSI, so the design team have been busy designing layouts as guest designers there. Here is the challenge:
I enjoyed this challenge. For the testimony, I journalled about the photo, taken from our trip to France 3 years ago. For the evidence I used clouds, tree, filmstrip, music element, watercolour. I also used the sketch provided.

I hope you have a go at the challenge over at CSI
