Scrapbooking Top 50 2016 Block challenge

This post is my interpretation of the Week 2 challenge at Scrapbooking Tip 50 2016 Block challenge. Here is the inspiration:

I loved all the colour in this photo, the greens and pinks are very dominant, but I didn't want to use pink as a dominant colour in my layout, even though it is in the photo, doesn't seem right to me to use pink for boys, lol. So I went with the orange instead, with just a little pink.
The wet mediums I used were texture paste, dylusions ink spray, glimmermist, and a new product I bought recently, Golden brand tar gel, which I mixed with acrylic paint, and then dribbled over the background. I learnt this technique recently in a class by Lisa Oxley using house paint. I think this product will be better, I will be able to colour it any colour I want.
The texture in my layout comes in the form of the crochet lace, tulle, buttons, felt embellies from Charms Creations and Rainbow Splendour, flair from Funky Flairs Studio, and some enamel dots, wood veneer, wire arrow and twine.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

D-lish Scraps DT share September - Lovely

Hi everyone, I am back with my last DT share for D-lish Scraps. I have had fun being on the design team for Amanda over the last year.
For my final layout, I chose to scrap a layout, using the bonus JAP kit from the August cybercrop at the Scrap Suite. There is also a challenge associated with this kit:
How pretty and springlike is this moodboard? I had a lovely photo of my daughter that suited this challenge and kit perfectly.
I created a mixed media backround with texture paste, colour bursts, ink and stamping. I really love how this all came together.
For my title, I used a lovely Dusty Attic chipboard word

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my creations over the last year, as much as I have enjoyed sharing them.

D-lish Scraps DT share - friends

Hi, I am back again with the second of my design team shares for D-lish Scraps for September. This layout is my version of the blind scrapping challenge, for August cybercrop challenge in the Scrap suite. A blind scrapping challenge, is where you scrap to a set of instructions, and the list of ingredients you need for the challenge, here is the list of what was needed:

The instructions are then fed online, so you have no idea on what you will be creating until the layout is completed. It's a fun way to scrap.
Here is my version of the challenge.
Friends

On my layout, I have used monochrome journal it'swood veneer heartpaper leavesresin flowers, and pastel petals.
In this cluster, I cut a wood veneer frame in half, and laid this over the paper doily. I then added  a flair buttontassel, and magnolia.
For my title cluster, I used Dusty Attic alphas, and sequin bow.

Hi, I am returning the first of my design team shares for D-lish Scraps. This layout is using the inspiration board for September, which is this:
The colours are so bright and spring like. I decided to use the KISS rule for this layout (keep it simple stupid). I was inspired by the sketch, the graphics and the flowers in the image.
Besties

This cluster includes a Dusty Attic lacey heart chipboard frame.
The final cluster features a monochrome journal it's tag and punchinella.

Kraft+ September challenge

This month the challenge at Kraft +, is to be inspired by this:
The colours are so pretty and spring like. I had this photo of my daughter and I taken at a French festival last year. The colours of the challenge were perfect for the photo.
I started with some coloured texture paste, and decorated the border of the cardstock, then added the patterned papers and embellishments. I added a gorgeous Charms Creations Heavenly heart with butterfly to finish off the layout.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

SBT50 "The Block" Super Challenge 2016 Week 1

I have decided to join in on the fun at Scrapbooking Top 50 2016 The Block challenge challenge this year, wonder how many I will get done. Anyway, there are 2 options to be inspired by, and I chose this one as the inspiration for my layout:
I was quite drawn to the colours, and thought about doing something heritage, but nothing was working for me, so then I found this photo of Charlie, a friends daughter, and it all came together. The triangles, flowers and the colours were my source of inspiration.
I added texture paste to my patterned paper that I thought was quite ugly, but it worked out well, in my opinion. I added lots of flowers, plus a heavenly heart and retired diamond from Charms Creations
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

Show Us Your Stuff September challege

This month at Show Us Your Stuff there is a great sketch to use, along with some mixed media:
This is a really cool challenge, I had so much fun with this one.
I chose a photo of my son, in black and white. I used the Ken Oliver colour bursts to create the background, along with texture paste and stamping, plus some paint splatters. This would have to be one of my favourite ways to create a mixed media background.
Of course with the Show Us Your Stuff challenges, you have to include a handmade item. I have used a Charms Creations DIY heavenly heart and a hessian arrow. I also added a Funky Flairs Studio flair.
I hope you give this challenge a go, see how creative you can be.
