D-lish Scraps February Cybercrop Challenge by Ros

The cybercrop is on again, but this month, there is a month to upload the challenges into the scrap suite on D-lish Scraps facebook page.
This challenge designed by Ros Madley, was lovely considering it was Valentines Day.

I had this photo of my son Kieran and his girlfriend Ally, which was taken the night of Kieran's 21st birthday party. They are a couple of loved up kids, young love, ain't it a sweet thing. I thought this photo worked really well for the challenge. I chose the Kaisercraft kraft range worked well for this layout, along with lots of flowers from D-lish Scraps, and some Prima chipboard embellishments. I also gave the gold mica flakes a bit of a go, in different sections of the layout.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and any comments you may leave.

White with 1 February Challenge

The February challenge at White with 1, is to use Celosia Orange. Orange is one of my new favourite colours, so bold and bright, so there was no doubt in my mind that I would give this challenge a go.
I had this photo of my nephew Lachlan printed in an 8 x 10 inch photo, that I thought I needed for something else, but didn't so, cropped it right back to give me this photo that I scrapped with, I think the effect is good, his face is much bolder than using a standard sized 4 x 6 or even 5 x 7 printed specifically.
The hardest part for me for this challenge was to find orange embellishments, even though I love the colour, I don't have a lot in my stash, something I'm going to have to rectify. Anyway, I had the lovely Charms Creation heart which was perfect, and some older Kaisercraft embellishments. I sprayed the seam binding and the small crochet doily with dylusions ink. I'm really happy with how this turned out.
Thanks for looking and any comments you may leave.

123 February challenge

This month at 123 challenge blog, the challenge is a really fun bright one, using the requirements as below:
Lovely bright colours, which I have found myself using quite a bit of lately. This one is perfect for boy layouts. That's exactly what I chose, using these two photos of my nephews Patrick and Jamieson. They are 2 busy little boys, and obviously need to do what all little boys do, climb trees.
For my layout, I kept it pretty clean and simple, unusual for me, who normally likes to use mixed media. I did do a couple of paint splatters to finish, lol. I used the glitter on my word duo, to make it pop a little.
The tree die cut is a sizzix die, which is pretty cute.
Thanks for looking, and for any comments you may leave.

Scrapping Outback February Challenge

For February the challenge at Scrapping Outback is to be inspired by the image as below:

I had the perfect photos to choose for this challenge, from a very recent hot air balloon ride I did over the Yarra Valley with my daughter (a 50th birthday present). It was an enjoyable experience, except for the 3am wake up. The morning was otherwise glorious, and the sunrise did not disappoint, nor did the balloon ride, quite exhilarating.
For my layout, I was inspired by the colours, and I chose to create my background using string to apply the colour, I was trying to capture the feeling of sunrise, it didn't quite work on paper the same as it did in my head, but I'm quite happy with the effect regardless.
My chipboard pieces are a balloon die cut from JT's later cuts, which I coloured using Zig wink of stella brush, and another 2 that I stamped onto chipboard using a My favourite things stamp.
Thanks for looking at my layout and any comments you may leave.

Kraft + February Challenge

There is a new challenge in town, and it's called Kraft +, and it's fun!!!!!!!!!!!
There has been much anticipation about this one, and Sandra Wallace and team have not disappointed. So the challenge is to use Kraft paper as the background, and use the colour palette as directed for the month. What a beauty to start with, loved this colour combination a lot!
These colours were so nice to work with. I chose this photo of my nephew Ethan when he was just a little baby, a few years back, the colours were perfect for this photo, in my personal opinion. I chose to use texture paste in my background and then spray over that with mists to create a soft background. Just a touch of patterned paper, quite old Kaisercraft scraps that I had , in just the perfect colours, and then to embellish, even using flowers and a hint of pink. I think it worked.
Thanks for looking, and any comments that you may leave.

Show Us Your Stuff February Challenge

What a lot of fun the February challenge is at Show Us Your Stuff, with a countdown challenge to inspire:
Now ordinarily I would go whoa with a challenge like this, lots of numbers - might mean lots of too much - but it doesn't have to be like that. When I finally settled down and thought about it, of course it was ok to do - and it worked. I loved!!!!!!!!!!!!! this challenge. Challenges are there to make us think, how can we use them to our advantage?
For the circles, I included them in the background work, using the circle template. Then the rest of the circles were made up with the embellishments - the buttons, D-lish dots, Heidi Swapp vellum ephemera, film roll - 5 circles - easy peasy. Then came the 4 papers -all from a collection, you only need a little bit of each. The 3 photos - if they are all of a sequence of an event, they will work. Edit the photos to a collage size, then they are not too big to work with. The 2 alphas was easy, and the one homemade embellishment - Charms Creations to the rescue.
So, have a go at this challenge, you may be quite surprised with your end result. I look forward to seeing what is created.

D-lish Scraps February Inspiration Team Layout

The February Inspiration Board at D-lish Scraps is an absolute beauty - the colours are simply amazing. There are so many options to this inspiration board to create an awesome layout, no matter the subject you choose.
I had this photo from a beach wedding, which I wanted to use with this inspiration board. I was inspired by the gorgeous bouquet, and definitely by the blues and white.
My embellishments include a foil heart doily in the background, along with a multitude of flowers - Little Birdie designs (the 3 large blue flowers) and D-lish Scraps (the white peonies, the large white roses and the blue and white mini roses) from the D-lish Scraps store. Behind the flowers and the photo, is also a Pink Paisley artisan element, you can just see it, and a corner embellishment from the same range - from D-lish Scraps. I have also added a sequin bow, a resin bird and wire, all available from D-lish Scraps.
Love

I really hope you feel inspired by this inspiration board, and give it a go - you won't be disappointed.
