Stuck?! Sketches January challenge

So I've started the year with scrappers block! Not great, as I really feel like I'm struggling at the moment with my scrapping.
I found some inspiration in the Stuck?! Sketches challenge for January, the first sketch they have on their blog, for this layout.
The photos are of my nephews playing with water balloons, on a hot summer day. Firstly they were bored, but also they were hot, so what better way to entertain them and cool them down at the same time. Sadly the water balloons didn't last for long, but they had fun.
So on my layout, I used a radiant rain dauber to make the "water splats" in the background.
I went through some of my older papers, as these ones worked really well  for the colours that I wanted to use. I cut the word "today" from a Project Life journaling card.
I added a Charms Creations super star and terrific tab to the layout to top it all off.
I'm quite pleased with this layout, even though I'm still missing my mojo, sure hope it returns.
Thanks for any comments you may leave.

D-lish Scraps DT share - Love you to the moon and back.

Hi again, this is the last of my shares for January.
This layout is inspired just by the photo, of my niece and her new baby.
My photo had a lot of gold tones to it, so I was trying to pick up on these.
I found a piece of 6 x 6 paper with a doodled frame, and the layout took off from there.
I used some of the gold star punchinella, under the photo mat, which added to the gold tones. Also in this cluster, I added a wood veneer love arrowstar flower, and Dusty Attic chipboard heart, which came in a pack with my title. The star flowers are fast becoming some of my favourite D-lish flowers.
In my second cluster, I have used a flair button, which was actually from a Lucky dip bag of flairs. I used some more star flowersblue paper leavesDusty Attic page pebble and a pick and place bow
I used the gorgeous Dusty Attic title - Love you to the moon and back, which also came with hearts. Next to the title, I have included a very cute wooden deer button
Love You to the Moon and Back
I really loved the Dusty Attic chipboard titles, I think they may become a regular appearance on my layouts.

D-lish Scraps January moodboard challenge - DT share

Welcome to 2016, and my round of shares for the month at D-lish Scraps. My first share this month is for the moodboard challenge:

Don't you just love this for a boys layout?
I chose to scrap a photo of my nephew Lachlan, when he was a little fellow, I just love the face he is pulling in this photo.
I really liked the sketch Amanda has provided in the moodboard this month, so I did my own interpretation of it. Instead of paper for the background, I have used a stencil, and a pen, which I drew the chevrons on and then scribbled in them.
I matted my photo onto a striped paper bag, and framed it with a wood veneer frame
In my clusters I have used some of the monochrome journal its tags, and then added flair buttons and printed wooden buttons
To top it all off, I added a felt polka dot bow.
Little Smooshy Face
I hope you give this moodboard a go, it's a lot of fun for those boy photos in your stash.

D-lish Scraps guest DT CSI Colour challenge #187 - DT share

For the month of January, D-lish Scraps is sponsoring the challenges at CSI colour challenges, so we have been asked to be guest designers for the month.
I chose to do a layout for challenge #187, the first one for the new year.
I was really drawn to the colour scheme of this, but also the steampunk image - although my layout didn't turn out very steampunk. I chose a selfie photo, and for the testimony I chose to tuck the journaling in between layers, and also about some goals for the new year.
The evidence I have used are some chipboard cogs, that I embossed, and I also stamped using clock stamps. I added some metal lock and keys,
I also added some numbers, as part of the evidence, also embossed.
Extra items from D-lish Scraps that I added are paper doiliescoloured tulleD-lish dotsLittle Birdie flowersflair buttonpinwheel blooms, gardenia, and cherry blossoms. I also added my journaling on monochrome journaling tags.
Goals for 2016
Why not give this challenge a go yourself, don't be afraid of all the requirements.

Charms Creations December/January challenge 2 - Creative Team share

Welcome to the December/January challenge at Charms Creations.
We have had 2 moodboards to do over the holiday period, both with the bonus of uploading by January 31st. Here is the second moodboard:
For this challenge, I chose a photo from a holiday 5 years ago, in sunny Queensland, which on this particular day, was NOT sunny, there was a huge tropical downpour, that we got caught up in, in Brisbane's Southbank area. Rain never stops us if we have a plan, lol, and our plan this day was to go on the big wheel and have fun. We did, a little damp, but it was ok.
For my layout, I have used Charms Creations cute clouds and DIY heavenly heart, that I sprayed with Prima colour bloom, then stencilled with Bo Bunny glitter paste, nice effect.
Sure do hope you get a chance to do the challenges, and have some fun.

Kraft + guest DT (for sponsor Charms Creations)

For the January challenge at Kraft plusCharms Creations is one of the sponsors, so I was fortunate enough to be one of the guest designers for the month - still would have done the challenge anyway, it's one of my faves.
This is the challenge for the month:
I don't mind my own handwriting, but it's not beautiful like some others - but it does the job, lol. my family reckon it's too hard to read.
I had no problem in writing on this layout though, as I wanted to tell the story - so it worked perfectly for my layout. We had a 4wd vehicle that we had in our family for almost 20 years, that we needed to sell - it still worked well, it was a stalwart - it could do the job quite easily, but we no longer needed it. So my layout is about the day we said goodbye to it, when the new owner came to get it.
On my layout, I used a stencil and texture gel. I applied more texture gel to some chipboard cogs, which I scattered around the page, as well as some Tim Holtz metal embellishments. I wanted this layout to be quite grungy.

I used some of the Charms Creations arrows, which I rubbed with a bit of ink, to grunge them up a bit as well. I love that this layout tells a story.
Why not have a go for yourself at this challenge, you might be surprised that your handwriting is befitting of it's place on a layout.
Saying goodbye to QAD

Show Us Your Stuff January challenge - DT share

Welcome to the new year, 2016 - sounds weird, just got used to 2015.
Anyway, it's time for a new challenge and our challenge at Show Us Your Stuff is to be inspired by this moodboard:
Now, if that doesn't make you feel summer, not sure what will, lol.
Anyway, for my layout, I have created this layout, a photo of my mother and I from summer 2014/15, when they were visiting us in Melbourne  - we went out for a treat on this particularly fine summers day, and ended up at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie - yum - and had one of their icecreams. A nice way to cool off for the day.
So for my layout, I have used some of the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Life Is Beautiful range - I fell in love with these products, so very easy to use.
My handmade items on the layout are Charms Creations cute clouds and heavenly heart
I had a lot of fun with this layout, sure hope you can find some time over the summer to give this challenge a go.
