Show Us Your Stuff February 2018 challenge

Our new challenge at Show Us Your Stuff for February, is this awesome sketch:
No automatic alt text available.
I loved this sketch, and it was the cluster in the graphic with the leaves and flamingo, that helped me to choose a photo for this challenge. I created the background with texture paste, and lots of different colour mediums, including Ken Oliver colour bursts, and inks and other sprays. It got quite wet, lot. I also did a bit of stamping over that.
I used Scrap FX chipboard circle with palm tree, perfect addition to go with the sunset photo, taken in Hawaii on our holiday in 2016.
The handmade items include lots of bits and pieces from Rainbow Splendour, who is the sponsor this month. I have also added some paper and printed phrase from Kit the Habit
I am very pleased with the way this one turned out.

Scrap the Girls February 2018 challenge

The February challenge at Scrap the Girls for February is this sketch:
No automatic alt text available.
It's a nice sketch, and it was a bit of fun to create with, I even used my most despised colour on my layout, purple, lol. The photo I used dictated my choice of colours. I don't have a lot of purple items in my stash, so I had to get creative. I found some acetate, and one of my new favourite products, alcohol inks, which I used to colour the acetate. I then die cut some alphas from the acetate. I also used a piece to mat behind my photo.
I used some ink sprays to colour the background paper, and added other die cuts, and acetate embellishments. I also included a Charms Creations heavenly heart, in the perfect blue for my layout.

Scrap the Boys 2018 February challenge

So I finally made it to the design team at Scrap the Boys. I tried a couple of times to get onto the team, and made it last year. So this is my first blog post with the team.
So the February challenge, is this:
Image may contain: text
Wow the possibilities are endless, just with 3 words. Not only the words, but the colours are awesome. I pulled out a variety of different photos that could have worked for this challenge. I finally decided on this one of my son when he was a baby, exploring the beach for the first time, so much joy on the little face.
I really wanted to keep the beach theme going, so I found lots of beach themed bits and pieces - wood veneer, twine, muslin, beach images. The background is a gelli plate lift, which looks like water, so it was perfect to use. I also added a Charms Creations hessian arrow, in the perfect colour. I decided the words in the graphic, were perfect as a title.
I loved creating this layout.

Kraft plus January 2018 challenge

After missing the challenge at Kraft plus last month, (it was a very busy December), I managed to sit down and get this months challenge done. December was the first challenge that I didn't do, since Kraft plus started. Here is the new challenge:

I love this graphic, and now I am looking at it again, I need to go make another coffee, lol.
My daughter Melanie has desperately wanted a coffee maker, I have had no room in my kitchen for one, but now she has moved out of home, she asked for one for Christmas, so that was what she got. She was very pleased, and has been making many coffees.
I created the background with stamping, texture paste, sprays. I matted my photo on patterned paper and then onto some fabric. I added some prills around the page for a bit of extra texture. I have various flairs on the page from Cuts 2 love and D-lish Scraps. The layout was completed with a Charms Creations heavenly heart
Thanks again Kraft plus team for another awesome challenge.

Happy new year 2018.  A new year often brings change. CSI, things are also changing. The rules are being relaxed, and inspiration can be taken however you want from the moodboard or the clues. Here is the first challenge for 2018:
So with the changes to the rules of how to play along, I thought about just using the image as inspiration, but it didn't work for me, so I played along with the clues as well.

Show Us Your Stuff January 2018 challenge

Happy new year 2018. This is my fourth year on the Show Us Your Stuff team, this year should be a lot of fun too. So our new challenge for January is this celebratory styled moodboard:
No automatic alt text available.
Now we all have some form of celebration in our lives, whether it be current, or past.
Last year I took part in the Scrapbooking Memories (remember them) Masters competition. Sadly, the competition did not eventuate, and there were many of us who entered. We came away feeling very disappointed. This layout that I am sharing for this challenge, was actually created for the Masters competition. It was a celebration of my husband and mine 28th wedding anniversary, which we celebrated on holiday in Hawaii. I decided that this layout would be a perfect layout to share for the SUYS challenge, even though I didn't create it especially for it.
I used papers, stickers and die cuts from Cocoa Vanilla Studio One of them I hand painted with watercolours, to tie in with the dress I was wearing. The handmade items on my layout, are flairs from D-lish Scraps, Cuts 2 luv and a Charms Creations heavenly heart
I hope you find inspiration to create a layout for this challenge.

Scrap the Girls January 2018 challenge

Happy new year 2018. We are back at Scrap the Girls with our first challenge for 2018 with this gorgeous moodboard:
No automatic alt text available.
The blues are gorgeous, and who says you can't use blue for girls? I love to wear blue, it is one of my favourite colours.
I used this photo of my sister, daughter and myself, taken recently, to celebrate my sisters birthday. I don't get to see her much, she lives in another state, but she flew to Melbourne for her birthday. She is wearing a gorgeous kaftan with luscious colours, especially the blues. This photo was perfect for the moodboard.
I was inspired by the bowls. I used a bunch of Stampin up stamps, to create my layout, stamped onto the cardstock and then more cardstock that I fussy cut and layered around the photo. I love how this worked.
Even the Charms Creations denim heavenly heart worked on here. A few flowers and flower brads finished it off.
Hope you have fun joining in the challenge.
