Scrap The Boys October challenge

End of October already, I managed to sneak in the challenge at Scrap the Boys, a sketch, awesome - I love sketches.
My mother recently gave me these photos of my son when he was 2 (he is now 23). Ihad forgotten about these pics, lol. He was having breakfast with his favourite companion of the time, Brown Ted.
It seems that with the age of my photos, my layout took a turn to my vintage stash - I really pulled out some of the old stuff for this. I have got old patterned paper and felt fusion - remember that? It seemed to work for this layout and my photos.
I added a Charms Creations arrow, and a cork embellishment and arrows from Burdy's embellies.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

White with 1 October challenge

I haven't done a White with 1 challenge for a while, just seem to run out of time lately. The colour for October challenge is cayenne:
Now this is not ordinarily a colour I would choose to use a lot of, but I seem to be trying things out of my comfort zone a bit of late, so I thought why not.
I have been wanting to scrap these photo booth photos for a while, and I think they worked perfectly for this challenge.
I sprayed the cardstock with some glimmer mist - it kind of looks like a blood bath, but anyway I ran with it.
I used some handmade paper and embellished with an x and o from Charms Creations, and a Studio Fourteen40 flair. I decided to leave the wood veneer raw, I think it helped to tone it all down a little.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Scrap The Girls October challenge

The October challenge at Scrap the Girls, is to be inspired by this moodboard:
I don't usually even attempt challenges using purple, it is one of my despised colours to work with. There was something about this moodboard though, that wanted me to have a go, so I did. I even used a lot of purple - still not sure why, lol.
So I created a background using gelatos, texture paste and stamping. I added a Charms Creations heavenly heart, a cute little Rainbow Splendour wood veneer feather, and a Studio fourteen40 flair
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Kraft+ October challenge

So October at Kraft+, is Blast from the Past challenge - using all those old bits we used to use all the time in our scrapping. Just telling a bit of a secret here, sometimes I still use some of those items in my scrapping :). Here is the challenge:
Considering that all of these items are still in my stash, there was no trouble in finding what I needed, lol.
I scrapped a photo of great-niece Elise, she is so cute.
The old items I included on my layout are ricrac, old patterned paper, vellum and brads. I also found an older stamp and an embroidered badge. To bring it back to current times, I included a swash of  Colour blast texture pasteCharms Creations heavenly heart and terrrific tab, and flair, tab and journaling tag from Studio fourteen 40.
I had fun with this.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Stuck?! Sketches October 15th challenge - DT share

I am back again with the second sketch challenge for Stuck?! Sketches for October, here is the sketch:
This sketch threw me a little, as I don't generally have 4 photos of one theme that are suitable for scrapping. However, I looked through my photo stash and found these photos of a tourist train that runs from Walhalla in Gippsland, Victoria. The photos were perfect for this sketch.
On my layout background, I added some gesso to break up the red patterned paper a little. I also added a bit of stamping. I chose some 7 gypsies ephemera relating to travel, one piece even has the word railway on it. I added some gears and round wood veneer, to replicate the wheels and functioning of a train. I found a train paper clip in my stash, so this went on, and the layout was finished with the addition of a Charms Creations arrow. I also included the tickets from our train ride.
Enjoy the sketch.

Show Us Your Stuff October challenge

Yep, it's mid October already, not long now till Christmas, that's scary.
The challenge at Show Us Your Stuff this month, is to be inspired by this moodboard, designed by Leanne Jago:
How clever is Leanne? How inspiring is this moodboard? How creative can you get?
My layout was inspired by the butterfly and Leanne's use of watercolour.
I used Ken Oliver colour bursts on my layout, this I think is my favourite product ever. I spritzed the colour bursts with some glimmer mist, which gave the layout a bit of a glimmery effect, not that you can see it here. I stamped on a butterfly to both sides of the page. I also added some texture paste. I have embellished the layout simply, with the background work, it didn't need much. I added a Charms Creations heavenly heart, and a D-lish Scraps flair button as my handmade items. I also hand-dyed a crochet doily.
The photo is my daughter from 23 years ago, trialling some of mummy's make-up. Every little girl does it, right?

Stuck?! Sketches DT share October 1st challenge

I have been selected as one of the new Design Team members for Stuck?! Sketches, and it is a very exciting thing for me. I love working with sketches, so when this opportunity came up, it was a huge thrill.
So the first sketch for October is this:
How awesome is this sketch? I love it.
I chose a couple of photos of a friends daughter, when she was a baby, she is now 18.
I kept this layout clean and simple, I wanted the sketch to shine, along with the cute photos.
Some of the embellishments added to the layout include a Charms Creations silver glitter heavenly heart and flair and tabs from Studio fourteen 40
I hope you have a go at this sketch.
