Scrapping Outback February challenge

For Febuary's challenge at Scrapping Outback, the challenge is to be inspired by this image:
Very bright, very fun and very summer is what this speaks to me. So I chose this photo of my nephews and my mother, having a bit of a water balloon fight - after all, summer is all about water  - right?
I used on my layout some chipboard from 2 crafty - the film slide, and the cool words - which I altered with ink.
I decided to keep this layout clean, I really wanted the bright and fun colours to shine on this layout.
Loved the challenge Scrapping Outback, thankyou.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

Charms Creations Valentines Day challenge

This month at Charms Creations, we have a new valentines day challenge. The challenge is to use xo's or heavenly hearts.
For this challenge, I decided to go against the traditional red, that indicates love. I decided for my layout, I was going to use a photo of my sister, who of course I love lots, and to use blue xo's.
I chose to use some Cocoa Vanilla Designs products, and of course Charms Creations products work so well with this brand, as with so many other scrapping brands and products.
So I hope you have a go at this challenge.
Love my sister

Stuck sketches February sketch challenge

This month at Stuck Sketches, there is an awesome multi photo sketch to use:
I had a lot of fun playing with this layout. I flipped the sketch around, which I think worked really well. My layout features photos of my sisters fiance, who decided he needed to take some secret selfies on my camera. Lol, I've got the last laugh, I have scrapped the photos of him, that is what my journaling says as well.
For this layout, I added some awesome Charms Creations triangles, which to me look like arrows on this layout. I added some cute wood veneer from Typo, and some simple buttons.
I also added a flair from Funky Flairs Studio.
I recently purchased a Fiskars tag punch - I love it, I have been using it lots ever since I bought it, to this tag I added my title.
Great sketch, very versatile, thanks for the challenge.
Thank you for any comments you may leave.

More than Words February challenge

This month the challenge at More than words, is to use the word wonderful, as well as sparkle.
I found this a really nice challenge to do. I used a photo of friends daughters, who both have beautiful smiles and are gorgeous girls, so it was easy to scrap them.
I used a Websters Pages patterned paper for the background, and then added some pretty Cocoa Vanilla paper - with the word wonderful in it. I used some gold foil journaling cards as a photo mat.
I added Cocoa Vanilla stickers, again containing the word wonderful.
I added this recently acquired Studio Fourteen40 gold foil flair which was perfect for the layout, along with some sequins.
I also added some cute wood veneers that I found at Typo, to add a bit of extra glam to the layout.
Thanks More than words team, I loved this challenge.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Show Us Your Stuff February challenge DT layout

So this month at Show Us Your Stuff, the challenge is to be inspired by this image and quote:
So just in time for Valentines Day, our Design Team have created some very loved up layouts to inspire you, check out the blog
This is my layout, and I have used a photo of my niece and her partner.
I stitched the hearts on the background cardstock, by hand. I 3d'd one of the hearts, which I printed the quote onto.
My handmade items include a Charms Creations heavenly heart, and a D-lish Scraps flair button
I also included on my layout, a handmade banner from A lil Something designs.
All mine

D-lish Scraps DT share - Grade 1

This is my last share for this month at D-lish Scraps. This time I have chosen a challenge from the current Cybercrop in the Scrap Suite on Facebook, set by Emma:
I chose this photo of my son, when he was in grade 1, in 2000- seems sooooo long ago now.
I matted the photo with a 5 x 7 paper bag. I added some washi tape, and then I used basic journal spots - which I tucked in as a feature rather than to journal on, and then added another basic journal spot on which I journaled. I also added a wood veneer.
My next cluster has again a tucked in  basic journal spot,  ticketflair button  and wood veneer

To the side of the photo, my title has been created from Dusty Attic alphas. I repeated the cluster with the basic journal spot,  ticketflair button wood veneer and washi tape. I tied some bakers twine around the page, and added a Dusty Attic mini banner
The colours I used for the layout are drawn from my sons school uniform.
So I hope you have a go at this challenge, for any school photos you may have hanging around.

D-lish Scraps DT share - All you need is love

I'm back for my second share of the month at D-lish Scraps. This layout is for the February D-lish Scraps inspiration board challenge.
I really loved the colours in this one, not your typical reds for something about love, and I really loved the gold. So from this board I was inspired by the gold, hearts, flowers and the word love in the quote.
I scrapped this layout of my husband and I, he was sneaking a quick kiss on Christmas Day, we were taking some quick family photos before the day got busy, and this is what he did, lol.
On my layout, I have used a bitty bag, monochrome journal its, and a carnation
For my title cluster, I have used a Dusty Attic word titleflair buttonCorbett Creations wood veneer bowpaper leafheather sprigwax blossom and alder flower (no longer available).
I have repeated a smaller cluster to the left side of the photo.
So if you haven't already had a go at the inspiration board, why not give it a go, try alternate colours for your loved up photos.
All you need is love

D-lish Scraps DT share - Hmm, yum, dessert

Hi everyone, back again with the first of my shares for February.
This layout is my interpretation of one of the challenges from the January cybercrop, set by Amanda Hartmann, here is the challenge:
This is an awesome challenge, it really enables you to do whatever you want, as long as you follow the rule of 3's.
I chose these photos of a friends daughter Abby, who at our Christmas get together, was really enjoying her food, especially her desert, lol. I managed to get a great timeline of photos of her eating. She is a bit of a character, with the best facial expressions.
I used some of the lovely Cocoa Vanilla Studio papers and ephemera for this layout. I love that D-lish Scraps embellishments will work with anything you have in your stash.
So the embellishments I chose to add to this layout include some bitty blooms, , sequin bow and flair button
Since I did this layout, Amanda has had a sale, and has a section in the shop, of clearance items. So some of the items that I have used on this layout, are found in this section. These include chiffon ribbon flowersprinted button birdUITC wooden beads and sweetheart blooms (no longer available). So if you want a bargain, get to the clearance section
Hmmm, yum, dessert

Scrap the Boys February challenge

This month at Scrap the Boys, the challenge is to use this sketch:
Now even though this is a fairly simple, but gorgeous sketch, it is actually a challenge, to get onto paper something that looks good.
I wanted to scrap this lovely photo of my great nephew Max, as it was just so appealing, but I didn't want to detract from the photo. At the same time I didn't want a boring background for the photo to go on. I really wanted the photo to take pride of place on the layout, so kept the colour scheme neutral, with the grey tones of the patterned paper on the white cardstock.
I had this paper rope which I made into circles to represent the circles on the sketch.
Instead of adding something to each section on the sketch, I added the extra bits to the middle section. I also added to my layout 3 gorgeous Charms Super Stars, perfect embellishment for this layout.
I know this looks simple, but I think it needed to be.
Thanks for looking at my layout, and for any comments you may leave.

Kraft + challenge February

So the challenge at Kraft plus this month, is to use postage stamp related things:
Now I have a collection of old postage stamps, probably dating back to when I was a kid, coz that's what we did back in the olden days, lol. My dear grandfather was an avid stamp collector, and he got me started on collecting stamps. My father has inherited Poppa's lovely collection. Most of the stamps I have are not worth much, but they are really cool just for a challenge like this. I have been waiting for a moment to be able to use stamps on a layout, and yay, it arrived. I really did enjoy this challenge, and I had many ways I could have gone with this, as I do have so many different types of stamps - I was looking at dogs, butterflies, Australian landscapes, and to do another layout for my France album.
Unfortunately, the stamps I had from our trip to France didn't really suit what I wanted to do, so I found these Australian flag stamps - perfect - to scrap a layout from our Anzac Day Dawn Service visit at Villers-Bretenoux in France. This was one of the most amazing days of my life ever, to experience this moment, and reflect, remember and try to imagine just how awful it must have been for the diggers. So I guess this is my tribute to the ANZAC Diggers who sacrificed so much, so that we may live as we do.
I had this lovely chipboard title ready for this layout. It worked so well.
I also added a lovely Charms Creations chevron.
I really loved this challenge, and it's another layout for my album, yay.
Thanks for looking at my layout and for any comments you may leave.

Charms DT layout for 123 challenge

This month at 123 challenge blog, the challenge is to be inspired by this:
This month at 123 challenge blogCharms Creations is sponsoring the challenge. So I have chosen to use one of the new Hessian Heavenly Hearts on my layout. I love these new embellishments they are going to be so much fun to work with, I reckon they will adapt to anything.
I created my background, by hand cutting the heart shapes into the gold paper, and laying this over the red patterned paper. I have used the word lovely twice on my layout, in the title and on the flair.
My layout is about my sister and her fiance.
So why not give this challenge a go, you might be lucky enough to win the prize from Charm.

Charms Creations Australia Day Challenge

So this month at Charms Creations, we are having 2 challenges for everyone to have a go at. Actually this one is a carry over from January. To use a map marker for Australia Day.
I created this layout, selfie photo of my husband and myself, on a day out in Melbourne City, for Australia Day. We had a lot of fun, roaming around, looking at all the festivities happening and visited the Shrine of Remembrance and the Botanical Gardens - tourists in our own city.
Charm has a selection of 2 map markers specially available for your Australia Day photos. I chose the blue and red one, I guess I still feel with our flag, that these are the colours that represent Australia.
I also used one of the new large cute clouds, along with some other wood veneer clouds from Cocoa Vanilla.
I love how this layout turned out, not just presenting our Australia, but also a nice sunny summer day out.
Sweet Summer Days
